Interesting/mind blowing that Vanilier makes his seasonal reappearance at just over 2 miles when last time out he clearly needed a shade over 4.25 miles. I’m nearly over it.

Muliins on El Fabiolo. Probably run over Christmas too. No cotton wool at Closutton.

Not too interested in Wolverhampton AW, but I'll have a bash at Cork. Man, this Irish horseracing is tough!

In the 14:15 at Cork, a Grade-2 Chase over 2m160y on heavy ground, El Fabiolo will be a hot hot odds-on favourite in the 6-runner field, but I'll take a chance with Fil Dor, who has a squeak to get a podium finish. The Doctor Dino gelding will be ridden by Jack Kennedy for the Gordon Elliott yard.

12/1 is the best price, in nearly all places, at time of writing. E/W best option.

The (14:45) at Cork, a Handicap Hurdle over 2m185y on heavy ground, gives the Califet gelding, Mcgrath From Clune a sound chance. Decent form for this event. Wears a tongue-strap and hood as usual. Phillip Enright on board for the Robert Tyner stable.

7/2 best price, in several places, at time of writing.

Interesting runner in the 12.45 at Cork - Old Port, trained by Charles Byrnes. Got up to a mark of 92 on the flat (finished 4th in a 12F handicap at Newmarket on gd/soft) and will be interesting to see how he goes at 25/1 here.

Ran a really good race actually, and could potentially have won if he'd been ridden nearer the pace. 3rd at 40/1.

Call me mad but I think El Fabiolo might be the only horse in training who could give Constitution Hill a run for his money. His is very low and fast over fences and am sure he could be exactly the same over hurdles. No point really, but it did just occur to me when watching him.

2nd, but no chance with the top-class winner. Not bad for early-doors e/w.

Only 4th and disappointing. Winner, Cafe Con Leche, was a tasty 40/1. <yikes>

Good morning, Oddy. I’m not totally convinced with his jumping. Yes, he’s low over the fences, but I don’t feel it looks natural at times. OK, it was his first run of the season and Townend was keeping him in check, owing to his being fresh and keen, so we’ll see how he goes next time.

He’s made mistakes or lacked fluency at his fences on every chase run, and still hasn’t looked in danger. I think when they’ve got a horse who has such a high cruising speed, they can allow him to make his own mind up at the fences.

I guess the key will be if he gets into a battle, what happens if they need a big jump at the last?

Personally I hope he goes to Ascot and saunters to another win over Jonbon, that would be ideal for my antepost bets!
