No one takes good penalties every single time. That's football. It has a random element, which is what makes it interesting. Even the best takers miss. I don't 'expect' **** to happen, but I'm not gonna stamp my little feet and conduct a witchunt when as a fact of life, it sometimes does. Maybe you should just accept that if a pen is awarded we have roughly a 3 in 4 chance of scoring. And that's fairly consistent across the sport as a whole.
That article's from over ten years ago, the six penalties he missed, with the team, date and the keeper he failed to score against... 21/22 SuperSport HNL Apr 16, 2022 2:1 Lovre Rogic 21/22 Hrvatski nogometni kup Dec 1, 2021 5:4 Marko Malenica 20/21 SuperSport HNL Sep 11, 2020 0:0 Nediljko Labrovic 15/16 Premijer Liga Mar 6, 2016 3:4 Goran Karacic 15/16 Premijer Liga Nov 7, 2015 0:1 Asmir Avdukic 14/15 SuperSport HNL Apr 3, 2015 1:5 Simon Sluga
So what's its current relevance? The fact you didn't know he'd since missed 6 when basing a generalised point based on a single, outdated example?
"Ovidiu Herea (Romania, 2003-present) "Ever since I started my professional career, I have spent at least an hour after training practicing penalties," said Herea." No ****! "It doesnt matter what you do. Penalties will be missed" My opinion is that if you practice you are more likely to score. I realise some people dont agree with me. But who cares about them?
He scored a lot of goals in succession Nobody has said how many penalties he scored in the period he missed 6.
We know from the article he scored 23, we know he's missed 6. So your paragon of penalties looks more like a 4 out of 5 man, which is decent, but debunks your preparation myth nonetheless.
You don't know what they are, but in relation to your point, based on the evidence above it still debunks your theory cos he's missed 6. Just like Liam was still 10th on form in his tenure here last season. Show me the maths to say different.
Ivan Krstanovic Scored 51 penalties Missed 6 https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/iva...ler/47171/plus/0?saison_id=ges&wettbewerb_id=
See above so you think practising penalties doesnt make any difference - **** still happens? I think the more you practice the better you get.
You're desperate to dig yourself out of a hole by misquoting me again. I didn't say practice makes no difference. I said you don't know that he doesn't practice and even the best players will still balls up and miss a few regardless. Your assumption based fingerpointing won't change that.
I can just imagine Ivan Krstanovic's dressing room: Silly manager: "Who are we going to have take our penalties? Sensible player: "Ivan has a good record" Silly manager: "But **** happens. My statistics point to him being due a lot of misses. Our goalkeeper hasn't scored yet. Let him take the next penaalty."
If you two want to carry this on any longer, you’ll have to do it via the private message function, it’s gone on quite long enough on here.
He made a decision to feint in the run up and place it. If he wasn't confident enough to do that he'd have just leathered it. Keeper made a 1 in 3 guess but it wasn't a bad pen per se. More of those go in than don't.
Straw man!? You literally said: "Twine had already scored so that might have come into the thinking to share out the spoils.” You also proferred the idea that a certain number of penalties will be missed. That implies that practice and ability doesnt come into it. I think less penalties will be missed if your penalty taker and alternatives practice and prepare better.
