I don't really listen to much of the commentary, chit chat. Probably because I am bored with the same old. As a consequence I have no expectations. Probably if I did listen i would be yawning. Obviously there are a few bits I am into, weather, tyre strat, some of the analytics around mistakes, overtakes, car issues. The rest is of little consequence. We have for the most part heard it all before, which is probably your beef. Just dismiss it, let her talk to those new to the sport, like my 11 year old grandson who is a big supporter of Lando Norris. He got Lando's cap from the merchandise shop this year. Good to see the younger ones getting into it. My two eldest grandsons are more into Moto GP have done off road motocross themselves.
Some very valid comments there JJ thank you . I think maybe she is trying too hard to impress , she’s not that knowledgeable IMO , I just think there are far more qualified people to do her job . But yes , I’m probably better off just shutting up .
look, I have never seen her drive so I've no idea but she speaks well and she has been hired and is more than willing to fill the quota. I would rather that than croft wittering on who has absolutely no clue.
Just reading that Logan Sargeant has been retained for 2024 “Thank you very much, James, I appreciate it.” he said to the team principal.
should the team principal not be saying that to him given the vast sum that he must be paying to get a drive???
He's not been confirmed on their site or twitter so might just be a poor choice of words over that radio? While he brings a good chunk of money I would have thought Williams will be looking to move up from 7th next year and would want a better driver?
the only way to move up is give albon a better car. there's 100 points between 6th and 7th. another 100 more to 5th. with 23 races and then random sprints thats a lot of points for 1 driver to make up for sure but two average drivers in an average car = The Bottas/zhou or kmag/hulk line ups and williams beat both with albon. Alpine had 2 podiums in the year and have a lot of money coming in. I don't think any dirver line up will get them higher than 7th.

If we are thinking forward: 1. Do red bull have the best engine? No. IMO the ferrari unit may be the best in the field, maybe. they have good traction out of corners for sure. 2. Do red bull heat their tyres well? no. IMO when all the engines are turned up and all are low fuel and such then they take longer to heat tyres and lose performance over 1 lap. Over 2 and 3 they are better. 3. is red bull better on tyres over a race? yes 4. does red bull get off the line well? yes? 5. is the red bull the least draggy car on the road? yes 6. does the red bull have most ground effect DF? yes 7. has the red bull soft suspension? yes. 8. Can the concept be copied? Yes. aston and mclaren and merc have all sown they can get faster doing so. Are any of the above points unique? I don't think so. Suspension travel can we worked out pretty quick. can the concept be further optimised faster than teams catch up? the red bull seems to be an evolution of 2022 car and just optimised front to back with the weight taken down, the more weight and drag that came off the more dominant they became. Is there a whole new avenue to explore under these regs for newey? I just don't know. theres an abundance of grip and downforce from ground effect so the less drag there is the faster they go in fast corners and straights. can people outdo them? I don't know. can people do much else under the regs? I just do not know as the engines are a major issue stopping them doing so.
its not even competitive to getting out of Q3 (which sainz didn't do) Its an ego time by the look of it, just pushing along to look good after messing up the race for himself. Perez time is cruising around like P2 or P1 type times and russell was probabaly asleep doing his time.
Quite a lot of news channels reporting that Charles Leclerc has signed a new 5 year contract with Ferrari worth €50 million a year. This will take him unil the end of 2029,with a performance clause to allow him to leave at the end of 2027. This is now as long as Michael Schumacher`s contract with Ferrari. Carlos Saintz to still be offered a new deal.
I don’t blame him for sticking with Ferrari, as there’s currently no other competitive seat available. What Leclerc needs to do now is to be more direct with Ferrari about his preferences in terms of car setup and seek full backing, similar to how Red Bull supports Max.I don't know if Leclerc wouldn't have completely cracked after these multiple seasons without a title by this point, in addition to all those unforced errors. Were that the case, the relationship with Ferrari would have already soured, not turned into a long term contract.
Well red bull have backed one driver in the past (vettel) and have done the same with verstappen in terms of the car. Vettel left IMO as ricciardo was getting more favoured at the time in set up and he jumped ship. Verstappen only stepped up in the middle of 2016 to red bull. Ferrari should really have no qualms about doing what every Ferrari team that won anything has done and that's backed one driver to the determent of the other. I think the ferrari engine is possible better than the red bull I really do. I have no evidence yet to suggest ferrari will change what they've done in aero as they've improve a bit in the later stages this season which suggests the money put in was going to have to be worth investing to extend into next year's concept as well.
That Leclerc contract is a lot of years/money for someone with what, 5 career wins (ish), no titles, and a not exactly error-free record. Makes sense for Leclerc with no chance of a RB seat likely, but surprised Ferrari would commit for that long.
ferrari sniffed round Hamilton so I'm sure there's other sniffs we don't know about. I don't think they had a better option given the car and neither did he the length of contract is eye-watering for both. it's one year after the new regs yeah?
