Sorry to hear this, very sad news. While we may have been rival fans, with RAW it was always healthy banter. Especially in the old BBC606 days of cross-forum threads (before things generally got a bit crazy following the move to this forum). He always seemed like a genuinely decent guy. RIP.
Terrible news, never had the pleasure to meet him, but always came across as a solid, well balanced guy. Thoughts and prayers with his family and friends.. RIP, God Bless
Did not know him but the glowing comments from other posters speaks volumes on these pages thoughts go out to his family RIP
Just a thought, but is there a Not 606 collection for flowers or donations? Never met the bloke but happy to chip a few quid in for it
****s sakes. I knew /suspected he wasn’t too great but didn’t expect to read this. Met him a couple of times, got me tickets for a home game when I lived overseas and had a good gargle with him… and one of his lads on one occasion. As many other have said he was a proper gent, human and lads fan. They’re hard to find, esp one so genuine. A very warm and lovely guy. I am really gutted by this. RIP fella, hope yer family is doing okay
Sad news indeed. I first met him and his wife at a SunderMad Xmas party many years ago though our paths crossed many times on later forums. Great lad and family man, such a passionate supporter of everything to do with the club. Sad that he didn't manage a few more years of retirement. RIP Alan and sincere condolences to his family. He will be a big miss.
Spoke to 'Brian Storm' who used to post on here but is now locked out. He just wanted to send his thoughts for Allan and his family.
I'd/we'd like to arrange something like flowers from our little village (here) for his funeral. Let me know if you'd like to contribute and I'll sort it (I'd give my bank details, privately for obvious reasons). n.b. a lot didn't know him and you don't have to . . . . there's no obligation whatsoever p.s. cheers, Chunks
I didn't know him other than on here, but would like to contribute. He was one of us, that's good enough for me.
Just found out 10 mins ago off cestrianmakem who used to post on hear I never saw this thread I thought it was the origional one I’ve known Allan for over 20 years and first met him in the deaf club playing snooker and have met him a few times before the match and half time I new he was suffering with cancer but never new it was that close to taken him He was a great lad and a pure sunderland supporter through and through He will be sadly missed Rip Allan
