Or the source could have said "I'm surprised it didn't happen sooner" and Copley has decided to angle it the way he wants
I dont follow him, somebody else retweeted it. Didn;t realise he was so unreliable, apols. For some reason I thought he worked for the Echo
I would hope there would be a couple of contingencies - one for if the manager keels over, an 'oh ****' pick as a steady hand (very much what we thought Mowbray would be, looking back on it), and an ideal world pick where you control the manner of the Manager's departure. It's clear they were thinking about a replacement in the summer so some work has already been done.
Why does it if he feels his career affected, doesn't matter if he's out player or not if I was out on loan somewhere and had a grievance then I would say something. Maybe he thought if I complain then they might send me back.
I'm not sure if he is unreliable. He blocked me on twatter for calling him Copley & Paste so I like to have the occasional dig like the child I am Mate of mine knows him pretty well and says he's a decent bloke.
He's been here 5 minutes and has played the most minutes of any of our strikers. Then if you watch the documentary/interview on YouTube that he made and understand his character and humbleness it's not really the sort of thing I can see happening.
Because the common denominators of our recent rise and progression are KLD, Speakman and Harvey. KLD does seem ruthless though so it wouldn't surprise me if his job did come into question at some point in the future.
On the Burstow thing. No idea if its true or not obviously. But it could be as simple as Speakman having a catch up with him and the Chelsea loan manager to check in on how things are going. And Burstow going into detail on how frustrating its been with the chopping and changing etc, and mentioning he's not the only one pissed off with it. Which has then led to Speakman speaking with others. Or something like that, Very much doubt he's marched the corridor and banged on KS's office door. But could definitely see a scenario where he's expressed his frustrations to Speakman. Mind you I think its all much more likely that Speakman has come to this decision on his own (with KLD). As many in the media have said, rightly or wrongly, it seemed like we were waiting for an excuse to sack him at the first sign of sustained bad form.
That's fair enough but no one really knows what his character or humbleness is if he decidess to stick up for himself. As I said I would say something if it was affecting me and my career and I also think you would also. Was also other players complained after him.
It's part of his job to have oversight on his the players are reacting to the manager so it's good to see him doing it. You want to avoid any kind of dressing room unrest before it festers.
Just had a passing thought so I had a quick look to make sure i was accurate.. Diallo had played 500 minutes of football at a senior level before he came here. 343 of those in the SPL. Just something to think about for those who keep saying the strikers aren’t ready because of a lack of “championship” football.
Don’t disagree up to now. But there needs to be some flex in the model, can’t keep burning managers every 12 months. See where we are in 12 months and what the position looks like. Hopefully the next appointment is for the long term
Great thought that. Rusyn has also been called up to the Ukraine senior squad. I mean sure, its Ukraine, and he didn't play. But painting him as a "youth team striker" like some in the media are doing, is just incorrect
Feel it was inevitable Came in at a difficult time and got us playing some of the best football i've ever seen and squeezed into top 6. Injuries then killed us, but was a successful season and he/we over-achieved. It has unravelled this season tho - 8 defeats from 19 is v average and playing style has been limited and over reliant on Clarke. We arent scoring but more important arent creating for strikers. Bigger picture is the club are clearly more ambitious that the skillset of Mogga, His managerial record tells us he consolidates clubs in Champ, he wants to play an attacking style and can develop young players. We all want that but the ownership/model/us also want promotion. Maybe this season is too optimistic, especially with the strength of the league this year, but that is the objective. Mogga cant fulfill that so he was always gonna be replaced in the summer. So why not now instead, so give the new man a shot this season. The club will also have succession planned for this, so lets see what happens next. They have got the last 3 appts correct for the objectives at that time, so they have plenty of credit in the bank.
As long as there is constant progression I think we can keep replacing the coach, it's not like the old days where we had a manager and they would bring in their staff and their players, we employ a coach who is given a staff and is given a squad so there is no real upheaval if they leave. Same goes for style of play, Johnson, Neil and Mowbray all played similar football with slight differences and it will be the same again, we won't be going from a Mowbray possession based side to a Dyche long ball team.
I suspect they have a bit of regret not going for Farioli in the summer. He’s been very good at Nice. Hopefully they have a someone similar lined up.
