Just got to keep on doing our thing. If we carry on our progression under Marti, if Willock really is revitalised and with an addition or two in January we surely must be able to get out of this.
Short term, the results aren’t great for us. But, it’s looking like half the league is being dragged into the mix.And some of them are in poor form. Should have a clearer idea of where we are by January
I'm hoping for some diamonds in the rough with Marti's contacts in the like of Mackie, Buzsacky, Charlie and others. Imagine if he found another Taraabt from somewhere!!
I can't get too fussed about other teams' results at this stage of the season. It's all about our own results.
Except that, if all the teams above us at least match our results, we get relegated. Unfortunately, we're already in a position where other results matter and survival isn't completely in our own hands. Hopefully it will be soon.
Of the bottom 11 teams only three took full points from their game this week. So every week there is the opportunity to move closer or upwards to teams above you. Those 11 teams have only mustered a poor 12 wins out of 55 games between them. We have the best form points tally, over 5 games, of the 11 (8pts) with Coventry and Plymouth behind us on 7pts. Once we get above that line and in the mix we can certainly climb. It’s a slow climb to get there, but after that anything can happen. It’s definitely possible if we can maintain momentum. Six games in 21 days from 9th Dec. ahead of us now. Three of which are in the top six. Hull (H), Southampton(H), Ipswich (A). Three in the ‘11’ mentioned above. Plymouth (H), Sheff. Weds (A), Millwall (A). It’s going to be a mixed bag. Keeping players fit, fresh, eager and confident will be a challenge for all Championship managers through December. Marti and the boys will be working their butts off.
