He'll go back to thinking he's the reincarnation of Baresi now, so will be shocking next week. Hopefully.
Just watched it on twitter/X whatever you want to call it. Keeper should have saves it really, doesn't put his arms up thinking its going over.
The most dominate 2-0 win you're likely to see. We were excellent, they were awful. By a mile the worst side I've seen this season. Numerous candidates for MOTM. Easily Manning's best game for us (possibly because he wasn't tested defensively). There is frustration that it was only 2-0. It really should have been about 6-0 or 7-0. Those are the games where we should be doing our GD the world of good, so that was a big opportunity missed.
Hence why draws can be so damaging at the top end. We only have one more defeat than Leicester, and yet we're nine points behind them. Win those games against Rotherham and Huddersfield (as we absolutely should have done) and the table looks very different, even with those four consecutives defeats still in there.
Yep certainly a very easy game. However, if it’d been 1-0 I would have been expecting a “worldly” equaliser with a few mins remaining. Very thankful for the 2 goal “cushion”.
That's all very well but we're still averaging very nearly 2 points a game after 19 games. I think we can consider ourselves a tad unfortunate to be 8 points off the top 2 with a PPG ratio like that. We're on course for 89 points as things stand!
I think Ipswich have done fantastically well to be the only team to be able to keep pace with the 3 relegated teams so far. I will be even more impressed it they keep it up all season. They've got a really tough run coming up which will see what they're really made of: Middlesbrough (A) Watford (A) Norwich (H) Leeds (A) Leicester (H) That's over the Christmas period as well. If they manage to keep a decent gap over us and Leeds after those games then I'll be seriously impressed and will start thinking they won't be caught.
Ipswich and Leicester play again in January. Incidentally Leicester will lose Ndidi, Ihaenacho, Fatawu, and Daka during Afcon. Could be a tough Jan for them.
We were so much better than Cardiff today and I think we have Sulemana's injury to thank! Forces us to play in a slightly different way (using the middle of the pitch for a start) and we looked very good doing it.
That was a joy to watch, even though it was freezing cold. Thankfully there was a lot to clap about! So many top performances and just a really quality team performance in general. Mixed in patient possession with more up tempo, incisive attacking play. Only thing that was amiss was our finishing in the second half! COYR
