Delap - what a powerhouse. Should have taken penalty. Yes his loss of ball led to opening for their winner but he was still MotM in game we should have won Twine - continues to improve. Great strike for goal Struggling for a third, not that anyone was bad. Greaves for winning the pen that should have got us the points.
1 Delap, was unplayable at times 2 Morton, absolutely everywhere, doesnt misplace a pass 3 philogene, penalty aside which can happen to anyone, so much of what we do well goes through him, tested keeper on numerous occasions Edit....another good performance by twine, but once he was moved out of the centre his influence dropped significantly, not a criticism of him, it's just not his position
1. Delap ; not withstanding source of error for second goal 2. Twine 3. Morton I woul actually have had Allsop as number 3 until the snafu for the second goal. I thought he made some decent saves. And for the record, it may be unpopular, but I thought Philogene was dogtod. I want to believe this was a one-off and he’s not starting to believe his own hype.
Delap Morton Twine. Watford were one of the better teams we have played at home and their coach home tonight will be bouncing after this result. I enjoyed the match but not the result as we didnt deserve to lose, and neither did Watford so, two good teams, although I thought our subs handed them the advantage. Beaten by a worldie after we missed a penalty, it's what happens in the championship. Not sure we had a designated penalty taker when it was given, which is odd, and the save from Philogene underlined that. Is he really our penalty taker every week? i think not. I thought it was one of our better performances which I'm sure will make the defeat harder to take. But it's not a disaster by any stretch of the imagination.
Everyone picking delap, Twine, morton...I agree. Wonder of the 3 which will be back next year. Top 10 being seen as progress...but then what next year, build again, replace them.
