In 2003 I went to Cardiff to enjoy the FA Cup final atmosphere. We lost. But we were playing the Arsenal Invincibles so that was okay. I didn't have a ticket and was going to watch it in a pub, but a friend's cousin was working the doors and he snuck us in for free. There were touts outside selling tickets for hundreds of pounds.

Anyway, on that day the Saints support won. Arsenal fans seemed bored to have won it and we out-sang them the whole match. That is called a moral victory.

This season we are having a lot of pyrrhic victories. I am scarred by the boredom being inflicted. I preferred losing with style, is my point.

Ok, not strictly, entirely true. I like winning. But please... some style this week!

1-1 but with a swashbuckling performance that I actually enjoy and a fluke goal for them.

Will be a relief having Bree back in the team. Please let's see Amo on the bench if Sulemana is out.

I went to Cardiff University in the late 60s and was looking forward to revisiting the city for the FA Cup final. Coach broke down…made the match but no time to look round old haunts. As loading said, lost the match, won the celebrations. Murder to get home as impossible to get out of Wales because of traffic. Got home to Island in the early hours.
Let’s hope for a victory this time <diva>

We have 4 decent wingers. Honestly our shape is better with two proper wingers. I would have Edozie and Sulemana starting and sub on SAA and Fraser about 60-70th minute. Get at them!

After the way the game changed second half, releasing Charly into a proper midfield position, and as I said after the Brizzle game, I would be happy to see us start with 2 strikers and Charly in the hole behind them.
Let the full backs provide the width - KWP will anyway - and take it from there.
If it doesn’t work then revert to natural wide players, but based on the second half Wednesday I would like to see if lightning can strike twice. On current form lightning IS more likely to strike twice than our strikers.

Nice to see KWP shooting from outside the box last night

    And hey we scored.

We don't always need to walk the ball over the line

    More ambition please

Teams that sit deep tend to nullify the threat of pacey wingers. Pace works best playing counter attack against a high defensive line (which is how most teams play against us).

If Sulemana played for a midtable team, he'd probably have half a dozen goals by now. Likewise if we signed Jack Clarke, he'd probably look sh*t for us.

We need players who can unlock a defence with a quick one-two. KWP, Stu, and Charly are the best players for this.

Yeah was calling for more long shots prior to Hudds. We don't do it enough.

Even Stuie's left-footed pea roller last night caused the keeper to spill it.

The players need to take shooting lessons from KWP. How can he bend it so accurately into the corner with his wrong foot?

Also, why don't players toe-poke any more? Exactly what Sulemana should have done, instead of side-footing it.

Don’t know if it’s true, but have read he’s suffered an injury setback, but not a recurrence to the injury that’s kept him out for the past 9 months or whatever, and he’ll be out for a few weeks with it.

He will be out? Bugger. Have we signed a crocked striker?

Peak saints. Try to be the cleverest team in the world and sign an injured striker, when there were plenty of options available.

I did think it was odd that we didn't go for Piroe, despite him being a similar price, and having worked well with Martin before.
