Tony was not in his office yesterday morning, he was at home till 3pm when he travelled up to Mark Venus house. Well that's what he said on the phone, if you don't believe that ask Nick Barnes he had the same conversation.
The fickleness of the football world…TM was a demigod at the end of last season. As soon as we hit a sticky patch people want him gone. Bonkers imo
Personally I'm sick of the manager merry go round with change after change, there will be ups and downs but a stable period of longer term development would be my preference. TM has been great for the club, working well alongside the whole management and development structure we have now. I've been a supporter for 60 years and have never been so proud of my club as I am now. The last couple of games have been frustrating to say the least, but you can tell that the lads playing for us are hurting as well as us, to me that means a lot, and gives me confidence that they will get better, after all they are still mostly kids.
He should have went at the end of last season when some of us were calling for it. That was peak Mowbray and now we are going backover with him in charge. Bad decision from KLD and Speakman. Hopefully they learn from this.
Well, it can be reasonably assumed that they were thinking about replacing him in the summer. Presumably that work has been continuing and been kept up to date regarding the performance of who we had in mind in the background, as it should be even if we weren't considering a change.
personally i'd get rid, and looking back on it should of done it in the summer, people keep blaming the striker situation but let's be honest at this moment in time any striker would struggle in this team at the moment, are play is slow build up and then giving it to clarke and roberts hoping the will do something special we have no width, half the game hume is sat in midfield so already are defence is out of shape, set pieces are a disgrace and even when batth was here last season it was the same, it's no good keep changing and taking striker in and out after 2 are 3 games, i know rusyn was injured last night, but mayanda was already coming in , we need to go back to basics and first thing is learn how to keep a clean sheet most games we need to score 2 or 3 just to pick up points
Tough one, wouldnt say I'm strongly for sacking him but also really wouldnt be upset if he went. The football under him has been superb, my favourite SAFC team, but I do feel like we've regressed on the pitch over the past few weeks. Last night was really bad, looked nothing like the team I've seen in the past year and it reminded me of previous managers final games in charge. I'm also unsure about a replacement (not that it should be a factor if TM isnt the right man), and whether the one the club wants is going to be available in December? Because if not, then do we end up with a steady championship manager (similar to a TM) who might get a bounce but then next season follows the same pattern as this one and we get in a bad cycle. It's a tough one which I'm not too worried about at the moment but just dont want this season to fade into nothing.
I bet Arsenal fans still wish they had done that as well. Arsenal 13 9 3 1 17 30 Man City 13 9 2 2 20 29 Liverpool 13 8 4 1 17
Exacrly the same scenario when Lee Johnson was manager/head coach when working with such a young team, as soon as we hit a bad patch it the same old story and the fans what rid. When is this merry go round going to end. We have to try and give Tony longer and get behind the team. As long as we don,t take too many drummings like the boro game.WE should stick with Tony .We are still making chances and hopefully one of our strikers will start scoring. We are very good at slapping ourselves on the back and saying we are some of the best supporters in the country but as soon as we lose a couple of games, we what the managers head. FFS lets grow up.
