This got me thinking back to when Lineker first got the job. I thought he was appaling. His delivery was wooden and hesitant and nervous. He looked as if he had been on a training course, and not paid enough attention. However, he graduly improved and got better. This happens a lot as new faces apper on TV screens. It may be that the problem is just as much the viewer, ME in this cas, getting used to them. Another good example was when Carol Malia took over 'Look North' from the legendary Mike Neville.
I feel the same, he's the heart and soul of the one show and I'll not be happy if he leaves..... I'm kidding.
Imo, and imo only, there was absolutely nothing wrong with that one weekend where match of the day had no one in the studio afterwards talking absolute ****e. Bit odd with no commentators, however, all we keeping hearing is "Move with the times", well, perhaps dickheads sat in a studio lambasting a defender for not being a mind reader live during the match because he didn't move 3 feet to the left, where the ball wouldve clipped his left testicle and changed the direction of the football and the ball would've went out for a throw in and not a corner that lead to a goal 53 minutes later.... isn't what people want to see anymore.
IMO the only sane way to deal with it is to simplify everything If you want to come to this country you will not be given handouts but must secure employment within 6 months or you will be returned top you country of origin You will receive no benefits or free healthcare until you have been employed for at least 3 years basically you get nothing out of the system until you have paid into the system spouses, parents, children etc should be supported by claimant Make the application process easier and more accessible as it should be processed a lot quicker and we should be dealing with tit better than we are
Grant Shapps sticking the boot in again after another letter signed by Lineker, and including the former head of the British army, the actor Brian Cox among the celebrities and high-profile public figures calling for the UK government to scrap its Rwanda scheme. Shapps, the defence secretary, said Lineker, who was suspended briefly by the BBC in April for criticising the government’s rhetoric over immigration, should not have signed the letter. “No,” he told Times Radio. “He’s been through all of this before. The BBC have told him he shouldn’t do this type of thing but still it continues. “I just fundamentally disagree with him. What happens to him next is up to the BBC. As far as I see it, they have issued previous warnings to him, so it’ll be interesting to see what they do and say at this point. “I know millions of people watch him for his football commentary and TV presenting, I would have thought it’s better to stick with that.” https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news...nd-brian-cox-back-call-to-scrap-rwanda-scheme
So Shapps believes he can interfere with the BBC, and comment on their employees particularly a football pundit ... ... yet the pundit isn't allowed to have opinions that Shapps doesn't like. FFS, it's more like Russia every day.
“No,” he told Times Radio. “He’s been through all of this before. The BBC have told him he shouldn’t do this type of thing but still it continues." Yes, you clown, he's been through all of this before and won. The BBC aren't the KGB ffs.
I don't normally disagree with you but yes, absolutely, Not as a pundit on a public broadcasting station paid for by the public purse. If he wants to spout political comments it should not be on the BBC.
He signed a letter, not broadcast his opinion on the bbc? Lineker said: “We need a new system that reflects the will of the British people who have opened their homes, donated and volunteered in their local communities. “That’s why I’m backing this new campaign, because fair really can begin here.”
No,I don't think it was,and as long as he doesn't use his airtime on the BBC to promote his views,I have no problem with it. He's as entitled to promote his opinions on social media as any other citizen,as long as he doesn't use his BBC programmes to do so.
Thanks, I have no idea what he's he's said or where tbh. I'm just naturally opposed to politicians who feel free to pontificate about every subject under the sun ... ... while opposing our right to free speech. It's absolutely idiotic to believe anyone thinks Lineker is speaking on behalf of the BBC. He's clearly putting his own views and isn't single-handedly single-handedly destroying the BBC's claims of impartiality. All Shapps has done is massively increase the impact and exposure of Lineker's words/actions ... ... just as the BBC did last time.
No doubt then that Lineker, and his Metro freinds will welcome a new centre for migrants being built in St John's Wood . Say to house two thousand to begin with. It would be as it was in Martha's Vineyard last year when a few bus loads of illegal immigrants were taken there. Much bleeding of the heart and food given out. They were all gone inside three days.
It's not so much the Lineker is speaking on behalf of the BBC. Even he wont be arrogant enough to assume that. But he knows that his opinions will be received normality there. Couldn't give a shiny about him or the BBC myself. It should fund itself then all arguments are over. When it stops bullying vulnerable people into parting with money they barely have, to pay talent vacuums their enormous wages, then it can come up from the sewer.
