That was an excellent watch, what a great guy Start Elliott is, and what a player he was for us. Well worth a watch.
Sure was at bit of an eye opener.....I, for one, never knew that he had a medical problem that effectively brought an end to his career with City. When he described sitting in his car 'crying is heart out' I felt a tear.
I never knew that he had that medical condition either, just goes to show us fans see a drop-off in form, assume they are not trying, but often there are situations away from football causing these problems.
I'm surprised people don't remember Elliott's asthma issues, it was widely reported at the time and it was the reason he was only used as an impact sub in the Championship. I absolutely loved him as a player, but his views outside football have put me off him completely.

I was the same, never heard this reason, maybe in those days social media wasn't as wide spread as it is today.
Think there's sometimes some slightly more fundamentalist religious beliefs than others. This may be one of those occasions.
His extreme opinions are exactly why I am not on that interview episode. I would not have been able to sit there and say nothing about it, as in his eyes I shouldn't exist.
He would base that in his dubious interpretation of theology though. Some of these non-conformist churches aren't exactly as benign as CofE.
