67 was my 1st FA Cup final and also my only memory of Terry playing for us , my dad got tickets on the same side and level as the royal box , the lads in all white lifting the cup lives in my memory
I see that the club left off any mention of his part-'ownership'. His departure, in acrimony, with the club in turmoil was a sad end to his history with us. He was a very good player and a fabulous coach, but most of all, he was FUN...something that seems sadly lacking in the corporate world of today's football. I will miss that side of him most of all. Go on, my son!
Slightly before my time although I am just about old enough to remember the 1991 cup final. My grandfather met Terry a few times and they grew up not far from eachother in Dagenham. Said he was an absolute gentleman and a joy to be around.
Won the FA cup both as a player and manager for Spurs. Signed Gazza & Lineker. Euro 96 for England Absolute legend and one of my favourite people in football.
Terry also had the full set of England caps, school boy, Amateur, under 23 and full international not many can claim that in their careers
I turned on the TV yesterday and saw the bazaar sight of Jimmy Greaves in a pink leotard wrestling Kendo Nagasaki, Jimmy went under the name of "Griller Greaves" this was in a best of Saint and Greavsie episode I had to check my coffee to make sure Mrs Conn had not slipped me a Mickey
Kendo Nagasaki was the pseudonym of the exotically named Peter Thornley. He changed it to that from the even more exotic Brian Stevens.
