I would agree if it was a one off but it seems like the opposition is lethal more often and not whilst we squander our chances and concede too easily. We need to start tightening up at the back and not need 20 attempts before we score.

If only it was that easy eh :emoticon-0102-bigsm

This is just me off the top of my head after a skin full of Guinness. At the start of the season we seemed to score for fun - especially when Clarke was on song more we look decent but not scoring. We all complained that we have a striker but he wasn't getting the service. Today that seemed to be the opposite - we were feeding the striker but no goals. For me that will come, we're starting to play a new way - the wingers and midfielders are becoming the assisters rather than the end product. With time it'll all click together, we just need to be that bit more patient

I think we need to strengthen in midfield to protect the defence rather than the defence itself being an issue. We're a bit too attack minded in CM. I agree with you that Jobe would be better further back even if it's at the expense of Ekwah who seems a bit off the pace.

Also agree with (think it was you) that we should decide on our best attackers and stick with them so the rest of the team knows how to take advantage. If that's Rusyn or Mayenda or both together so be it but we need to figure it out. No good starting one and hauling him off at half time for the other.

thanks for your visit and input mate, you pretty much sum it up nice and easy...we do tend to play some good stuff but we either hit the target early or we can't hit it all day, we tend to go give a goal away whenever we play with the first shot on target against us and it is becoming a habit but if you do not score you are not going to win it is that simple.

have a good season and be pleased to be out of that div three, the sh1thousery and dire officials was life draining.

PS: i hate people saying 'we should beat the likes of...' if a team wins then they deserve it, simples (we beat man city with the last kick of the game, they were the better team of course but we scored so deserved the win) ;)

Most modern day footballers are tall and quick i'll give you that but O'neins size isn't his problem. In reality height is only a benefit for defending crosses. corners and free kicks. Neither of the goals scored today would have been prevented by height would you agree?

What O'nein does bring to the position is a bit of mongrel which can put attackers off their game.

On a different note you asked me not to comapre him with 3 of the worlds best yet you're listing the best PL clubs centre back pairings as a response :)

I'm past caring about the EPL and going up. The last week had proved the Saudis have bought the league and enough clubs to help them vote to get away with anything.
It's pointless going up now. Game.over.
Clubs need to organise themselves and boycott the whole pyramid now.

    Shìt result.
    Should have won.
We are going back to the premier League anyway.

    How do I know ?

My black cat Sunny turned up tonight.
Went missing march, came back may with a head injury but briefly.

6 months later, turns up asleep on the landing :D

He's a black cat I named after Sunderland and we've been on a roll since I got him,
    It's written in stone :p

Smug is right he cannot motivate them, di canio or mccarthy could, not enough experience in this team, can't score from corners still, can't defend them, get bullied etc weak as piss.

I've calmed down a bit from yesterday and had a bit of a think and this is the team I would play against Huddersfield

    Patterson
    Hume. Ballard. Seelt. Huggins
    O'Nien
    Neil Adil
    Ba Rusyn Clarke
We need someone just to sit and stop the opposition players walking straight through our midfield and I think O'Nien could do that. Adil deserves a start for me so that means both Ekwah and Jobe drop to the bench alongside Roberts

This. Thats a lot of sense for some one off his head on Guinness. Hopefully we click the second half of the season. Like last season when Amsd started to make a difference in games when we couldn't score, he would pull off that very much need goal. Perhaps one like Aouchiche will soon be scoring regularly. After watching his video " Why we bought Aouchiche " I am hoping he could be the one if not perhaps Meyanda or perhaps I am pissed too!

Need to see changes for Wednesday. Need to build stronger relationship at the 10 and 9. Jobe isn't a 10. Doesn't have it.

Funnily enough that's the exact team I was thinking about. Gives us the defensive protection we need and plenty of firepower.

Agree about Ekwah and Jobe but I’d be tempted to play two up front at home against a team who are 4th off bottom. Just to try something different.

I did come up with another team that allows that but it's means a change of formation but I can't see Mowbray doing that

    Patterson
    Ballard. O'Nien. Seelt
    Huggins. Neil Jobe. Clarke
    Adil
    Rusyn. Mayenda

Aye that’s similar to what I was thinking but like you say I doubt he would try it which is a shame. It’s still early enough in the season to try something new especially against a very poor team.

Also Rusyn looks like he needs to be alongside another striker.

Rusyn isn't a standalone number 9. No where near.
