I could write a book but people wouldn't believe it. Just as one random example, here's a funny story ... ... a group called Cypress Hill came to the club and I really wanted to see them as I loved the music despite never being in their 'scene'. I arrived early and helped myself to their catering and listened to the sound check. I helped the Hell's Angels with the 'unload', of the trucks, for which I picked up another £25, the same as my pay from the club. I finished the unload and went to the dressing room to see if the lads needed owt, was the club treating them right and did they know anything about Nottingham. "Nothing" was the response, "Is that where we are?" I had work to do so went to the front door where the big lads were and the queue was forming outside. I was our 'spotter' and scanned the queue for wrong 'uns, drug dealers and anyone carrying weapons. At one point I was roped into doing a raid on the Liverpool/Manchester gangs on the street who were selling fake 'Cypress Hill' merchandise. The group's own merchandisers paid us £1 for every fake T-shirt we brought back. The gangs all had knives and defended themselves, and their profits, like men possessed. I've been at SJP, Millwall, Cardiff and Seven Sisters but was never in fights so brutal as those. After that all died down I went back inside for a can of Red Stripe, on the house, and a breather. just as I was looking forward to a relax and the concert one of the group's roadies came to me and asked if I could help. 'Of course, what do you need?' I was used to insane requests from bands and could usually sort out whatever they needed. But that was usually food, drugs, girls, etc, so I was stumped when they needed an operator for the lights during the concert.Their lighting guy was comatose and they couldn't bring him round. I couldn't find anyone so said I'd do it, wtf. I went up to the balcony, was given a set list with notes and a set of slides in various colours. I've faced gunmen with less fear ffs ... but I got through it all and it remains one of my proudest moments
Good little album this... https://amzn.eu/d/d6pCasb Link is bust. Can't get it to work but it's their 'singles' album. Got some class tunes on
You should definitely write the book, mate! You could get a ghost writer if you dont want to do it yourself, but to be honest, with chat gpt or any of the A.I tools and a little bit of research on writing the prompts...its never been easier to knock out 10 to 15 pages a day. Its still all your content. Before you know it you've got your book. Get it done!
Good for you mate, I have mates there and happy to arrange a meet with the band or whatever ... ... I'd advise against it though, most bands are fcking weirdos
