Not really, most NHS funding comes from Income Tax. NI pays for benefits and the state pension.

Has anyone ever seen Penny Mordaunt smile. She’s one moody mare.

Well if you were the MP for Portsmouth North, you might well feel.the same.

PS: Spain is very lucky to have Sánchez! Did you know that he was the first Spanish PM who is able to communicate effectively in English since González? Rajoy couldnt, neither can Feijóo!

I saw her performance at the Tory Party Conference, in which it became apparent that her brain has been eaten by worms.

This guy is like Martin Lewis on steroids. A very interesting take on Hunt’s performance today. There is an advert for a shares app but you can scroll forward through it, unless you might be interested in that sort of thing.

Needle exchanges have been available in the uk since the mid-80s in response to the AIDS crisis

    https://www.wearewithyou.org.uk/what-we-do/visiting-needle-exchange/

The SNP have granted access to the UKs first legal drugs consumption room to open next year
    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-66929385.amp

we shall see if that changes the mood in the uk overall. As ever these ideas have obvious benefits for people suffering addiction and are widely supported in principle, until they want to build one and then you get the “not on my doorstep” rejections

I did know about the needle exchange and searched for nearest to Bargate its in Shirley 1.2 miles away. I was surprised at the number close by. https://www.wearewithyou.org.uk/needle-syringe-services/?query=Bargate Southampton
I found this of interest, good to see Release are still operating.

The drugs testing service at events and in cities and towns around the Netherlands has been in place since the end of the 80’s and no doubt has prevented harm and saved lives. It's needed in the UK too. https://www.jellinek.nl/vraag-antwoord/why-do-they-test-drugs-the-netherlands-and-how-does-it-work/

For those people that don’t think woke people exist, check out the Nella on Im a celeb this week.

Absolute classic woke person. Narcissistic victim that can barely think for herself without parroting media talking points. Prime example of a woke person.

I've never chosen to watch 'I'm a celeb'. Does that make me woke or wokeless?

Not going to watch it because I don’t follow I’m a celebrity, but are you using the dictionary definition of woke?
“aware of and actively attentive to important facts and issues (especially issues of racial and social justice)”.
If so then she’s okay with me.

The number of seats won by Geert Wilders far right PVV party, 37 of 150 with 25% of the vote, came a surprise to many in the Netherlands and further afield. I think and hope he won't be able to form a government as the center parties will probably come together to prevent his extremes. There was a big split in the vote, in the cities the GroenLinks/PvdA alliance winning or coming a close second in most. https://www.dutchnews.nl/2023/11/big-cities-buck-national-trend-with-wins-for-groenlinks-pvda/

Not great news in the Netherlands, then. I always thought the Dutch to be broadminded and oñe of the best educated nations in the world. It would appear that those who voted for this clown are lacking "clarity of thought." IMO, this guy is an opportunist and like Farage, clearly does not believe in what he is publicly spouting!!

Fantastic news. Hopefully more anti-globalist politicians get elected across Europe and we may have a chance of saving the west

25% of the vote and 37 of 150 seat and probably unable to become prime minister or form a government, sanity prevails.
