Very good point mate, it's like a fly in a conservatory ... ... they keep crashing around, thinking they'll find a way out, but eventually exhaust themselves and get hoovered up
If Everton are successfully sued and go bankrupt it’s very possible you get a similar situation to Rangers in Scotland. The premier league wouldn’t accept them back in and as a new club would need to start again from lower down the pyramid. You can see Chelsea and Man City being bailed out so no risk of administration there and everyone else happy to make an example of Everton. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Administration_and_liquidation_of_the_Rangers_Football_Club_plc
I'm of the same opinion, I can't see the premier League throwing the book at either Man City or Chelsea - too high profile
They could always test the water by going someone smaller, like Newcastle. It’s about time those legally binding assurances were looked at.
Irrespective of whether or not they've broken any rules they're clearly quite happy to accept being milllions in debt. We're always told about the riches of the PL and the vast sums clubs bring in from merchandising, gates, TV, etc. The reality is that no matter how much comes in they spend it all then borrow more.
Would like to know how much Burnley have spent in trying to secure they're place in the Premiership, cos however much it was currently it isn't enough.
Yep him and Sam. And they turned their noses up at Sam and would have at Dyche had they not been desperate. If they had left Sam in, and spent half the money since he left, they'd be just outside the top six or in it, rather than in the bottom three.
Reducing the points deduction would allow the football authorities to do the same when it eventually comes to charging Man City. Nailed on.
100% hoy the big statement out with 10 point deduction.......dust settles....appears there enforcing FFP....reduce point reduction on appeal.....they can all rub hands together on a job well done.....all in a year when the point reduction wont send them down anyway Only other scenario i see the point reduction staying is, the appeal takes long enough that Everton look like they will stay up.....then they leave it in place.....that like you point out leaves the dilemma of needing future point reductions to remain in place fully
