I genuinely don't think it's harsh as a club in financial trouble requiring administration would get 10 or 15 points.

it's a triple punishment in effect for those clubs as they get a transfer ban and points and harsh control.

everton have 10npoint soff and are 2 from safety. I'm convinced this took this long to get heard to avoid relegating them before and now they look easily safe they've taken a nice total to send a message without actually sending one.

Everton new owners can spend 119mil (not that they have it) this January and still be 14th or 25th.

Tbf, we have nothing to compare it with to judge whether or not it's harsh. It's the result of an independent panel made up of a KC, a lawyer and an accountant. They had a case before them which was treated like a legal case and came to a conclusion. They repeatedly refer to Everton 'not acting in good faith' in their 'testimony' which they say has gone against them. The thing I find mystifying is how they came to the points amount. They explain why it had to be a sporting punishment but don't lay out how they came to the 10 points specifically.

City haven't yet had their day in court. If, when they do, they get a similar punishment, then we can judge how harshly Everton have been treated. Let's hope this news lays the foundations for what is coming city's way.

    by the by.

i firmly believe Everton should take the 10 points and move on.

they will easily be 10 points above the 3rd bottom side with 10 games to go imo.

if they appeal they risk a transfer ban for 2 windows min plus a massive fine that could put them in ffp risk again.

the season where this falls means neverton should be laughing here and spending 50mil on another forward for dyche and just sail to safety.

city's charges are far more serious and if proven have to lead to title removal and explusion.

they've cheated. far more than a 20mil overspend.

I know which is why I said if their punishment is similar, we will know that Everton have been treated harshly. City should be bracing themselves now the Everton verdict is in because they won't be getting away with a fine.

I'm hoping they get the same panel.

It was just my opinion - I'll change it if others get punishments in proportion to the serious of their transgression, but I have my doubts.
City would have to have the sky fall on them for it to be proportionate, and somehow I just can't see it.
However, perhaps it signals a serious commitment to cleaning the game up, and if it does we should all be thankful.

I've put the England game on (yes, I really am that sad) and I'm seeing Trent getting kicked l,r&c.
What's the betting he'll be injured for next week?

has anyone seen this so called stonewall pen for kane that was actually a booking.

kanes tapped it wide and left his leg in looking for it and the ref has decided its a yellow. everyone apparently hopping mad

kane has actually moved his foot to the keeper rather than in the natural way to run after his touch so he has induced contact

    hilarious.

England omaying 3 at the back when they don't need 3 cbs and also henderson.

    seriously? get some players in.

I get what you're saying but cheating is cheating and should be strongly punished. Hopefully this is a precedent rather than an anomaly. If it's the latter then yes, very harsh. Even if it's not an anomaly, I can't see the Man City punishment being relatable so it'll seem harsh in comparison regardless.

you could take 50 points in the one year off city this season and not relegated them

what would the point be. they were found to completely inflate and are still inflating revenue so have breached ffp over more than 5 years.

every title is tainted and should be stripped. they could be given a 5 year transfer ban. they could be relegated.

Make it severe and show cheating won't be tolerated.

Reality is, the authorities will **** bricks against Man City's legal team

the fact uefa caved and here the prem is using the exact same evidence does say its never going to come off but just saying we'll we let Chelsea away with it since 2004 so what can we do is not actually any good.

not even 10% of what the Chelsea ownership got up to has been revealed.

not only that but the new owners cannot really pass ffp unless they get clubs to buy their bad offcasts.

If city's investigation is done by an independent panel like happened with Everton and the panel is as thorough, city's punishment could be immense.

the only fair punishment is vacation of all titles won in the period in question plus explusion from the Premier league.

let the football league decide where it might accommodate them

Didn't watch England as Malta are hardly going to make a decent game. Mrs had Children In Need on and lo and behold up pops my youngest daughter in the band stand in the Race Across Yorkshire bit! Cheered up an old man on a miserable Friday night.

think the investigation is done by PL team then an independent panel study it and the Clubs defence and then make their decision on innocent or if guilty the penalty .
