Everton were relegated to Div 2 in the 1950s. I believe Arsenal are the team that have had the longest unbroken spell in the top flight. They were elected to Div 1 in 1919 under very dubious circumstances when it was expanded from 20 to 22 teams. City actually got 1 vote in the election.
Coventry City were in the old first division for ages...25 years or so....Always managed to avoid relegation, sometimes by the skin of their teeth....There fans would say 'if they had painted the Titanic Sky-Blue it would never have gone down.'

Everton have spent the most seasons in the top flight though. Followed by Villa. West Brom, who some on here regard as a small club, are 11th on the list.
Well, Everton had one charge and were deducted 10 points. So in the interest of fairness, Man City with their 115 charges should be docked 1,150 points, carried over at the start of each season. It'll only take them 25 years of consecutive wins to reduce the deficit.
History doesn't give you extra points or a place in the Premier League. I watched a YouTube video recently about a famous Scottish club, apart from Rangers or Celtic they have more Scottish Cup Final wins than any other team. I wonder if Ric know who they are?
