Definitely not, we need him. Not as if he isn't getting playing time, he just isn't a consistent starter.
Good grief that tested my blood pressure at the end. We look much more cohesive generally and Bazunu is very good on the ball now. We appeared to be destabilised by the loss of Smallbone though, RM didn’t seem to be able to fix that but gave us a bit more of an attacking edge with the subs that led to the winner, well taken from AA. Couldn’t quite see who was responsible for the free hit leading to their equaliser. Please PLEASE stop announcing man of the match when there is 10 mins left to go, particularly to a CB. Tempting fate to the max.
Short and sweet analysis: Great three points, but I think undeserved. Very impressed by WBA. They impressed me more than Leeds and Ipswich did at St Marys, for example. Best referee I've seen at St Marys for a very long time (with the caveat that I haven't seen any replays of any incidents).
Just had a quick look at the PL table Top Man City Arsenal Tottenham Liverpool Bottom Luton Burnley Sheffield Utd BORING still enjoying the 'anything can happen league'
Just got on here. Very good, not sure about “brilliant”? WBA looked very capable in first half. I listened to TSP & the Baggies guy got it spot on; very counter attacking side, defend well & always better in second half. We did really well to get 2nd goal & manage game (just about) thereafter.
A scrappily earned win. At times I thought they played over confidently but just edged the win. Usually the other way round. Glad to see they were pushing more balls up the middle. Well done saints let’s hope for lots more scrappy wins. There is little doubt though they are playing better these days. Although am finding it difficult to understand all the back passing from attacking positions. Well done saints.
I wasn’t sure, really I was quoting what Dean Hammond said in commentary. It was actually backing up the opinion that the ref had a really good game and it was a case of scraping around to find something to complain about.
Met FatLeTiss today, discussed this subject and I can say he was wholeheartedly in agreement with you. As am I. Vin
That 9 point gap to the automatic promotion places doesn't look quite so insurmountable after grinding out a win like that does it? Especially now that we appear to be quite capable at the art of defending. Not the finished article yet but RM seems to be getting a tune out of the squad and I enjoyed how we coped under pressure just as much as I did watching us turn it on against other teams this season. All very encouraging.
