Duffen wasn’t a Hull city fan at the start, but he is now. Goes to away fixtures around London, he considers himself to be a fan. A committed supporter is how he describes himself
If Acun started rocking up at my pre-match watering hole I’d be furious. I’m there for drinks and bullshit, not a media circus.
It wasn't like he was as welcomed as he was here though. The Irish media were against him and Duff fed off that. And it's not like he left them worse off either. The other owners apparently want to buy the club out so he's gone along with it. If his priorities have changed it's his right to do what he wants, it's his money. And, again, he hasn't left them in the lurch anyway. If it was over Duff as the Irish media are saying it's unusual as it would be like letting the tail wag the dog. Managers come and go and owners will obviously have priority. So I expect it to be something more than just some emails sent to the club supporting Duff.
If he rocked up in our corner I'd send him to the bar. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
Have any other ROI clubs been owned by foreigners? , is it something they are not open to because of history , are they really being parochial and insular , just wondering ? Maybe the ‘love’ of Duff is an excuse to buy Acun out and locally own ? If they’ve made it clear he’s not welcome because he’s ‘ over ambitious’ and wants to swap Duff out then why should he hang around ? If our two loanees have been well ahead of most of the league then other than modest experience and game fitness what would they learn at that level. ? Answers please just chucking it out there against the negatives so far
Yeah, Acun’s done a lot of good but there’s an element of ‘bread and circuses’. The Allams were heroes for saving the club from going bust, until they became villains. Every football fan should have a healthy scepticism of owners. They’d be naive not to.
That’s fair enough, without Duffen we would never have got promoted to the Prem so I’m ever grateful for that
Fleetwood's owner bought Waterford. Another player they will likely lose next season is Moylan who is their most popular player, he's going to Lincoln (agreed I believe before Acun took over).
I'm often ambiguous, but am fairly sure the one that serves me would class herself as a barmaid. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
No, not all all. Massive difference between us and Shels (and the other club he was involved in), being that he fully owns us. Maybe it wasn't his smartest decision to buy only a stake in Shels but I don't see how what has happened there creates any concerns in terms of his commitment to us.
