Watford play host to Rotherham United on Saturday afternoon looking to extend their recent undefeated streak in the Championship to six matches.

However, the Hornets sit just seven points ahead of 22nd-placed Rotherham in the table, who themselves have avoided being beaten in their last two fixtures.

Improvements in defence have been key, with three clean sheets being recorded in four matches, but you have to go back to September 2nd for the last time that Watford scored more than twice in a game.

Matt Taylor will be quietly encouraged about the progression of his side, who have lost just one of their most recent five fixtures.

As well as earning a share of the spoils at Southampton, the Millers played out a 2-2 draw with second-placed Ipswich Town in midweek, netting their leveller in added-on time.

Team news from #watfordfc - couple of players having assessments later today to see if available but Ismael wouldn’t say who. Says need to get performance and points as he’s aware of the run of games after international break.

 

Pretty key players I presume.

I feel less confident with Hamer in goal - don't rate him at all.

Got my eye on the Dane today, he needs to start upping his overall game, which despite my criticism, he seems to have improved a bit recently.

 

There don't appear to be many away fans.
