Wrong thread. Should be on Politics, or maybe Too Subtle For Some thread.
I needed a couple of goes to get it.

Not sure if this is the correct thread for this but three of the top four are teams that were relegated last year.

Meanwhile, in the Prem, three of the bottom four are teams that were promoted last year.

I know it's early in the season but it looks like we're seeing a clear demonstration of the obscenity of the cash gap between EPL and EFL.

Was thinking this myself the other day - has there ever been a season where the same teams just swapped back?

Yeah but last season all three promoted teams stayed up; Fulham, Forest, Bournemouth.

So maybe the gap isn't so big.

(Although I do agree there is a problem)

And to extend, Che, six out of the bottom eight in the EPL came up either this or last season.

To be honest, the sooner the "Big six" bugger off to a European Superleague the better. If that leaves us playing quasi-championship football for ever more, I'll be happy. I'm enjoying this season.

More points dropped against weaker sides from Ipswich.

Hopefully this is the start of them slipping.

Its looking like Leicester run away with it and then us and Leeds fight it out for 2nd place. Can't help but think Leeds will edge it due to Farke.

Could very well be winner goes up on the last day at Elland Road. That has the makings of a huge game.

    Let's not count any chickens.

Lots of football to play. Ups and downs, good runs, appalling runs, average runs.

Ipswich are second. In our promotion season last time people said Southampton would drop off as we were freshly promoted from League One didn't have the squad etc, but we stayed top 2 all year.

Yep. Ipswich also have had a better start than we did that season I believe.

Still think Ipswich will fade personally.

Maybe but we had a much better squad then than Ipswich do now IMO. Lallana, Morgan, Lambert, Cork were all PL quality players playing in the Championship. Fair play to Ipswich for what they've done so far but the gap will gradually decrease between them and us/Leeds IMO.

They may well do, I'm just pointing out that they've performed better so far than we did in our promotion season, and I remember people on here getting really emotional when fans of other clubs said we wouldn't last.

They'd be a dangerous side in the playoffs too, certainly don't see them dropping lower than that.

Home to Swansea at the weekend a huge game for them with them away to wba afterwards.

Do you know much about Ipswich squad? The average fan probably knew **** all about our squad back then. Ipswich might have a few players who aren’t household names now but may become them in coming seasons

The other thing is that we don't know that we're good enough to be top 2 challengers yet. We're on a decent run at the moment, but not blowing teams away to the point where I expect us to win every game. And we're yet to go on a winning run of more than 2 games? Maybe 3. We've got a longer losing run so far than we have winning! Things are improving and we hope that Stewart can help fire us to more comfortable scorelines, but I don't think we've done enough yet to show that we can be real top 2 contenders, though we certainly have the potential to be.

Was going to say the same.

Lambert was a hero to us, to others a fat journeyman.

Lallana was unheard of, and most people didn’t know who Morgan was. They became household names because of what they achieved with us over 2-3 seasons including the back to back promotions.
