It’s a long season and we need to write this game off. Try and take the positives from the spirit of the team. The crowd have been ****ing incredible as well fair ****ing play!
Mixture of bad luck and terrible decisions. Let the haters have their day, had their pencils out ready for this for weeks.
It’s really hard to make any kind of judgement after that game tbh. Just mental. We were so close to equalising and then got caught with 2 late goals which isn’t surprising really. I can take so much positives from that game though so not overly worried. The injuries are the only thing that really concern me
Results elsewhere went our way this weekend. Just need to pray those injuries aren't that bad (Maddison didn't look terrible but VDV was sadly in a lot of pain), and that Romero returns in 3 weeks with a brain.
We’ve massively exceeded expectations this season so to be one point off the top is amazing. Need to regroup and take the positives and go again on Saturday
none of us will have a problem chalking this one off. Chelsea are ****e and based on that performance and their general start to the season, they’ll be no where near the European places come the end of the season. the downfall started with Udogie’s bizarre and needless 2 footed challenge which changed the mentality of the game. Before that, it was looking like we’d have won 4-1, not Chelsea. They were absolutely rattled. But Udogie is young, and he’ll learn. but as for Romero, he’s got to cut this **** out. We rode our luck early on when things started to go pear shaped after the Udogie challenge, but Romero continued in the same fashion. injuries were always gonna play a part at some point in the season, but to have to deal with needless suspension headaches on top of 2 unfortunate injuries in 1 game, is far from ideal, and entirely preventable. but it’s done now. It’s how we respond. Massive shoutout to PEH, Vic and Dier. Thought they were brilliant in really challenging and ugly circumstances.
Udogie : needs the hairdryer treatment to ensure the rash behaviour is not carried further in his career. Romero : experienced player so no excuses whatsoever. If his "balance sheet" is Sergio Ramos esque, then you can afford the bad days. But the way I see it, there have been too many incidents at Spurs where his credit is literally in the red, and therefore a liability,
How many other fans stay and sing the team off after losing 4-1 at home...magnificent from the fans to stay with the team. The players who didn't get sent off did themselves and the fans proud. Can't believe I am saying this but other than Romero and Udogie I am really impressed with the way we battled and tried to attack with 9 men.
Ahh it's the part when everyone holds hands and starts telling each other how proud they are of a loss.
