Frustrating is the word. Stoke were bang average. City didn’t make anything of many attacking opportunities with poor final balls and wrong options. Meite & Robinson were poor. Colwill & Etete from the start next week possibly?
Not seen any of the game but from the stats it looks like we shaded it.... Happy with a point and another clean sheet though against an in-form side.... Continuing our good bounce back after our disappointing defeats. Just outside the top 6 as a result but I think we'd all have been happy with this position a third of the way through wouldn't we??
Absolutely delighted with the point and another clean sheet. I think however it's time we started believing in ourselves a bit more and not be afraid to take it to average teams like Stoke. My mate who's a Stoke fan and was at the game thought we showed too much respect early on. I should point out that he's a disgruntled fan at the moment but he said Stake looked like the away team and just played a disruptive game. Anyway, as I said, a good point and a completely unexpected position in the league. Well done Bloooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooobirds.
I saw the game and Stoke are one of the best teams we have played. Great credit to our players who were just as good including Siopsis and Grant who were much improved. It was end to end for most of the game. A really good performance from us.
I just can’t let this laughable post go without comment - yes I’ve bitten the bait but the author must have been at a different game. Stoke were anonymous and not “one of the best teams we’ve played” by a long long way. They didn’t have one player who I thought “we could do with him.” As Clingo rightly suggested above City just need to start believing in themselves. I lost count of the number of times Grant Meite Collins Robinson & Bowler got into great positions but wasted opportunities to create a goal attempt. Siopsis “much improved.” Clueless comment. “A really good performance from us.” Defensively yes but offensively City were anything but - they were wasteful and NQAI they dropped 2 points.
Got to agree with Nin. I didn't see the game but listened to it right through with CCTV commentary from Ashley James and someone else. Acording to them and from what I understood, Stoke were bang average and nowhere near the best team we've played this season. Sunderland who we managed to beat were far superior as were as well as Leicester and Leeds, though we should have beaten both. Great battling performance well deserving of a point, but we will play far better teams than Stoke. Having said that, I'd have probably taken a point before kick off but all three were there for the taking.
I'm definitely taking the positives from the game. Appreciate we possibly could and perhaps should have taken all 3 points but as we know, we won't always make the most of our chances. Likewise though, games like the aforementioned Sunderland, when we were roundly outplayed yet came away with all the points will hopefully mean that our missed opportunities get balanced out by our more fortunate results. Onwards and upwards eh???
Stoke beat Leeds, Sunderland and Middlesbrough before a draw with us. We shall wait to see how Stoke do from now on and then we shall see who is right. So much supporting the team, again all negative remarks. As long as the team all make the effort any result can go anyway, the team put in plenty of effort and so did Stoke, for me it was a really good game.
You know what’s not being stated here - the team miss the best creative midfielder in the league and a goal scoring centre forward yet they’re up there and we’re disappointed we didn’t pot the potters today who have won 3 on a spin including Leeds. A big to the squad and coaches
You do it consistently. It is disrespectful to our players. I know you couldn't care less but I will continue to point it out to you. It is Sipios. It is not difficult is it? I thought you said you were leaving the board. Like you did 9 or 10 years ago. And yet you are still here? Still a total WUM.
