Love that song, what a voice JLH had. From Van Morrison (or Them) to AC/DC.... Gloria was originally released as a B side to Baby, Please Don't Go, a song covered by AC/DC.....a very young AC/DC.
Any thoughts on the 'new' Beatles song? I actually love it. Had thought it would be a **** gimmick, but it's just lovely.
Loved the Smiths, heard Marrs new song on the radio and thought it was very good. But **** me the video is woeful
Thanks mate first time I've heard it, i was fortunate enough to enjoy the Beatlemania of the early 60's, but sadness pervades this recording despite the slick video, its another case of what might have been. This track on first hearing sounds flat and lacking the spark of the Lennon / McCartney collaborations for the obvious reasons. It will probably achieve its aim , go to no 1 in the charts, then disappear forever.
I first heard about Paul's idea to arrange this over a year ago and have been looking forward to it since . . . . and it's absolutely brilliant, and very nostalgic (almost in a tear jerking way) Thanks very much for posting . . . . it's made my birthday even better than it's been anyway
