We will have injuries all season. This is a given! Shaw and Martinez surely can’t the catalyst that is missing. A system/a strategy, call it whatever you want, is what’s lacking.

This is exactly the reason why I was against the argument that a No. 9 would transform our fortunes. Every time we’ve relied on individual players instead of an all encompassing system, it has led us into a deeper hole.

Only ETH can save us. Not the players. I just don’t know how he’s going to do it at this juncture.

You don't rely on a single player, you just have a focul point and a man who knows/senses where to move to in order to bag the chances that go begging now. You still need the other players to carry on scoring the goals they always have.

Those goals have just completely dried up this season. It’s quite shocking really!

I'll be honest and say IMHO Rashford is sulking because we have brought in Rasmus and he thinks (for some reason) he should play striker.

He doesn't want to play striker.

He doesn't want to be stuck out wide on the left in some Dutch style to keep the pitch wide either though, especially as he's not going to be crossing the ball in with his right foot. He wants to be able to drift in from the left.

I still think if we put Antony on the left and Pellistri on the right we might start getting some decent crosses into the box which many could make use of.

Btw it's also the reason why Garnacho has become less effective.

Despite running around a lot and giving 100%

Exactly, why don't we at least try this???

You know, playing a left footed player on the left and a right footed one on the right.

    The mind boggles genuinely.

It’s fkin retrded! That’s what it is! Imagine playing Beckham on the left and Giggs on the right. That wouldn’t even exist in dumbest of realities.

Let's say it worked when Shaw was fit and playing. OK fair enough.

But when he's out injured and it's not working then you have to adapt and have a plan B.

(Not that it's ever worked with Antony on the right btw)

Bisakka's forward play has become a lot better and he is actually linking with Antony quite well and putting the ball in the box for him.

And I'll say one more thing.

This idea of sitting back and playing route one football is utter bollox.

And to do that against our local rivals in a derby game is fcking embarrassing.

The loss of Shaw and Bissaka can't be understated. Both are crucial in driving play forward and providing Rashford/Antony with balls to cross and without them, that role falls to Rashford and Antony themselves, neither of whom are good at progressing with the ball from the halfway line. Give them both the ball approaching the final third and they p[ose a threat.

The truth of the matter is not one of the back four who played against City is first choice. In the case of Varane, ten Hag made that call, but the other three are injured.

This is where I have some degree of sympathy.

The rest is as I've said before, make your own signings the spine of your team and pick the remainder around them. Use your own signings.

If that means Mount plays where Fernandes would like to, so ****ing be it. Make him captain while you're at it, back your judgement ffs!

I'm not exactly comfortable with it suddenly becoming a thing that Sancho is right by the way. If this player 'wins' in all of this, I genuinely give the **** up.

People need to understand fully where the problem lies. No one should be backing Sancho, at all.

I haven't seen anyone on here backing Sancho one iota, on the contrary. What has been questioned in some quarters has been the manner in which ETH approached the problem - a lot of that in the mickey mouse papers today, and I myself suggested that ETH may have underestimated the strength of feeling towards Sancho within the squad and how that may be manifesting itself in some performances on the field.

Personally, I don't give a **** whether he stays or goes provided he pulls up his socks and contributes something positive to the team - the same in fact for every player in the shirt - play your heart out, week in and week out for the club, or **** off.

I'm not backing Sancho in this. What the fck has he done to deserve backing???

However, there may just be a decent player in him and ideally I'd rather the problem was resolved and he was back in the team.

But if he leaves, there's nothing so far from him to suggest I'd care that much tbh.

    Need I say who?

In any case, I didn't say people were 'backing' Sancho, but more alluding to the fact the problem may actually lie with ten Hag.

As I said, if Sancho is seen to win in this situation, the managers position is undermined forever.

    It can't happen.

By the way, I've always stated that Rashford backs his mate, like he did Greenwood.

It's really not that hard to spot.

He needs to be brought into line. The guy is on £350k a week for **** sake, can he not just be expected to do his ****ing job (as he's told) for that?

He should play in goals if that's what he's told.
