Good Morning. It's Tuesday 31st October, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road Leeds pursuit of damages against Everton in vein Leeds, Leicester City and Burnley will not be successful in their pursuit of financial damages against Everton amid Financial Fair Play charges, according to former Crystal Palace owner, now talkSPORT presenter Simon Jordan. Everton were recently grilled by a Premier League committee, regarding their out of control financial situation. The football authorities took action after the Toffee's posted losses totalling £372m (over a three year period), £267m more than the allocated £105m amount. If found guilty, Leeds, Leicester and Burnley have let it be known that that they will take legal action to recoup £100m each, for loss of earning potential. According to Jordan, the punishment for breaking Financial Fair Play rules are clearly set out, thus agreed to by all clubs; this doesn't include clubs taking the law into their own hands to recoup lost revenue. “They’ve got no chance,” “Everyone signs up to a covenant which is basically that the sanctioning of a breach has these consequences. Now they can make a case if they want and try and make a case through the legal system to try and suggest that this is a breach of the rules people signed up to those rules. "Any decent court case is going to refer them back to the industry that came from and say what were the rules that you signed up to. The rules that you signed up to were that the punishment for financial breaches was this. "You can’t then go and say ‘Well I don’t like the rules that I signed up to and I can’t do anything about changing those rules, so I’m now going to sue you for them. Any decent court will refer you back to your industry because that’s the governance that you decided you were going to be a party to.” please log in to view this image Would you settle for a point Leeds travel to top of the table Leicester City on Friday night, looking to close the gap between themselves in third, and the top two. After a faltering start, the Whites are 14 points behind the foxes, and nine behind Ipswich Town (in second). Whilst in the grand scheme of things coming third doesn't sound that bad, the lottery that is the the play offs, has never been kind to Leeds. Leeds must close the gap, but with 39 points out of a possible 42, how realistic is it, that they can leave the King Power Stadium with maximum points? The 30yo striker has been out of favour for several seasons after extended periods of time on the treatment table, and further fueled by his inconsistent form in-front of goal. Leeds may have the best fans in the World, but also the most unforgiving, and they don't suffer fools gladly. You'd think Bamford, someone who is reported to be one of the most intelligent footballers in the entire League; would be a little more savvy, and not bite the hand that feeds him. Whether he's cupping his hand over his ear to get a reaction from the Elland Road faithful, injuring himself whilst celebrating a goal or pretending to have been sucker punched to get Anwar El Ghazi sent off during the infamous 1-1 draw against Aston Villa, Bamford just can't help himself. According to Popey:- “He brought a lot of stuff on himself there that he didn’t need to, and nobody would have complained if he hadn’t taken it. [Crysencio] Summerville was gagging for it, maybe on-field [Pascal] Struijk should have said, ‘Right okay, make a decision, we do that’. “But look, it’s gone now, he had a chance when he came on to try and score [against Huddersfield] and didn’t strike the ball very well. “He’s gone back several paces because of that in midweek and who knows. If he recovers from this that’s a remarkable mental strength. “But it’s in the balance right now that he can isn’t it, because the fans will still try and back him. We heard it the other night, there was a lot of signing for him in amongst the initial mixture of boos, so they will try and get with him. “Let’s face it, there’s every chance he might well be needed because if Rutter does get injured or Piroe then they’ve got to play him haven’t they.” please log in to view this image
Morning all. I doubt any Leeds fan realistically believed wed get compensation for Everton's shenanigans and if we did, what would they pay it with, they're skint. There's nothing to debate about Bamford anymore. He's hasn't contributed in two and a half seasons now and at 30, he's done. We'll probably keep another season and then pay up the remaining two years of his contract to try and fool some club into taking him. Problem with that is hell have to play these half hours here and there to keep him in the shop window
Morning everyone the problem with Bamford is we have no one else to bring on. Gelhardt has not made the grade and our reserves don't stand out yet. His stupidly long contract is actually holding the club back from signing a decent striker. The owners may be faced with a dilemma in January whether to stick or twist.
Morning all Taking Everton to court does seem a strange one, maybe we are hoping for an out of court settlement knowing they don't have the cash for a lengthy fight. A point against Leicester would be great, but in reflection, would we have settled for a point against Ipswich before taking all three. We are good enough to beat Leicester and equally capable of losing by a couple of goals on our off day. If we never have to rely on Bamford again it will mean we have managed to stay injury free, that's all we can hope for. If we do have to rely on him his game play is good, we just have to hope that it's not him who the 1on1 opportunity falls to
Morning all Leeds fans. Didn't Sheff Utd get compensation from West Ham when they went down in 2007? Something related to the two argie players that basically kept West Ham up but there was something dodgy about the transfers. Something like that.
Everton getting a massive points deduction and subsequent relegation would be compensation for me the cheating ****s.
That was for 3rd party ownership so effectively the players shouldn’t have been playing for West Ham. The powers that be decided to force West Ham to pay compensation to Sheffield United rather than what should have happened and reinstate Sheff U to the premier league and relegate the hammers.
Like Ive been saying OLOF, they'd still stay up. The three at the bottom wont get near 30 points for the season, they're useless
Yeh… that’s the problem… in any other season 12 points would relegate them. But This season? There’s a chance Burnley’s form picks up… can’t see the others.
Should be relegated from the start of next season and start their new life in the Championship on -12 points
With any luck the takeover collapses and they end up in administration so will then get another 10 points deducted or 15 if they fail to come out with a CVA.
Looking at things as they stand, it isn't actually impossible that Everton and Bournemouth both finish on less than 20 Points and still stay up - that would almost be worse than our relegation
