    That explains his odd interview.

I make that 6 Championship managers (25%) who started the season, gone after 14 games...
If Preston and Norwich fans get their wish...Lowe and Wagner, respectively, will be numbers 7 and 8. Bringing it to 33%

Feel a bit sorry for him really,. Working in Bristol I know a few of their fans, and they say he had his hands tied behind his back, no money, sold all their best players but no reinvestment etc, but he has done a **** load behind the scenes as well. But hey ho, things move on.

Ah, so what you're saying is, there's a correlation between managers leaving and the percentage going up.

How can we get the percentage to go down?

Read the comments under the bbc story on this. Seems that nige was very well regarded by their fans.

I know some of us are bitter he left us for Leicester, but I thought he came over as a fairly decent guy and improved the club. Sounds like the bc fans think the same. Hope he gets his health back and gets another chance somewhere decent.

I saw him on crutches.. I bet he was tempted to lob them at the 4th official or the Radio Bristol, Bristol City *summariser. One crutch for each.
*Some of his responses to Burnsey's questions used to curl my toes

I rarely feel sorry for managers of big/biggish clubs that get sacked, they usually get a pay off that for the rest of us would seem like winning the lottery and then get a lucrative contract at another club on massive salaries before getting sacked again.

A member of staff at City while Pearson was there was later sacked by the Allams in one of their cost cutting purges. Pearson got him a job at Leicester City and even loaned him a car so he could commute. He didn’t come across in the media as a likeable person but he obviously had a very different side to him, and he also laid the foundations for Bruce and Ranieri.

It's probably a fairly accurate assumption that you don't see too many managers floating around without a pot to piss in,fair comment...

    But,here's the issue to me.

If they're sacked for underperforming and/or spaffing huge amounts of money around, and showing very little in the way of success for it,then perhaps that's reasonable grounds for showing them the door.

If however, they're being asked to perform miracles with limited funding and backing from the board(which appears to be the issue in Pearsons case),then I've got no problem in displaying a bit of empathy...

If Rosenior was summoned to the office tomorrow and sacked but got a £300,000 pay cheque and a pat on the back in the process, would you still maintain your stance?

I listen to a lot of football podcasts. Ex players at various clubs of his all love him. The media Nige who can come across as a bit of a bully is not the one the players experience. Many said he's absolutely hilarious and they love his honesty. Doesn't feed them any bullsh*t, tells them as it is and they appreciate it. A few have said he is a nice guy who looks after his players and staff.

The crutches are for a back operation he needs, totally separate to his, as yet undiagnosed, neurological condition, and now the sack. He'll have had better times. :emoticon-0125-mmm:

I think he's been treated pretty shabbily. Good luck to him with his health problems.

I've posted on here before, I had a one to one chat with him shortly after he took over at City and he seemed a really nice bloke, nothing like the way he comes across in media interviews.
