Isn't that why we signed Darlow? Allegedly Meslier's replacement for when he left in the summer, yet can't get a game as Farke clearly prefers Meslier. What does that say about Darlow?
It's certainly a debate worth having and you're 100% correct about Rutter dropping in to receive the ball and then launch attacks. So the question is which position allows him to do that best and at the moment playing as a no 9 seems to work for him. Farke would also likely make the point that they're almost constantly interchanging with Georgie not being picked up when he drops deep and likewise Piroe being able arrive late unmarked. Of the two though Piroe definitely has more positional responsibilities and doesn't get into the box as much as he would if playing up top so that will mean less goalscoring opportunities over a season. You could also argue that there are better 10's out there than Piroe and so why buy him and not a more creative playmaker. I'm guessing Farke would say show me a no 10 who can score as many goals as Piroe will. My own view is it's a partnership which is very much a work in progress but equally as important are the wide players because we do need pacy runners to stretch defences.
