Three times this season now, with one thing or another with some so called fans. We've already been fined £12k this season, and we also probably still have another outstanding charge from within the last few weeks, now that to top it all off. Shameful. The idiot was arrested and now has a lifetime ban from the ground, and on top of that I expect the police to press charges, all that before the club itself even gets punished. Fine, points deduction or even playing behind closed doors. I think the stewards now need to come down hard on the fans and stop them approaching the premiter of the pitch, also need to take swifter action, he should have been jumped on before it even got to the stage it did - yet the first person to confront him was a supporter. Hopefully this will be the last time but unfortuantely I can't account for the dregs of society.
This was my original thoughts and write up on it... Embarrassing day AGAIN today, I've had to take time to gather my thoughts, and clear the red mist from my eyes. I think of all the decades I've supported this club, I've never felt so ashamed after todays events in the Rainham End. There are NO excuses, none whatsoever - how do you answer the fans from other clubs that have seen the video and call us racist, there is NO answer at all, shameful. I'm pleased the club have acted instantly and decisIvely, BUT IT STILL WASN'T QUICK ENOUGH FOR ME, what is this three times now we've had instances regarding so called fan behaviour this season at matches, I'm losing count. I believe the person now has a life ban, but we need more zero tolerance from our stewards, that dosen't allow a fan to position themself at the front of the terracing confronting players with their actions, they should have been jumped on (for want of better words) straight away. I don't care if the opposition got a penalty, I don't care if they scored, I don't care if they celebrate in front of you, I don't care even if you think it's taunting you, the reaction should never have happened in ANY situation. No excuses, No ifs, No buts, if this isn't clear enough for you then you shouldn't be at a game. STAY AWAY! In the meantime and until we learn to behave ourselves, the fans running forward to celebrate goals will have to stop, along with any other approach to the front, we just can't risk it, we just can't be trusted until this is stamped out. RANT OVER
An impression of an ape right in front of the player and an exchange of words, but I don't know the content in the exchange of words. He was arrested straight after the incident, once he was back at his seat I think.
I know someone who found his facebook page, and if it's anything like the fan that attacked the Wycombe goalkeeper many years ago, he's going to get absolute dogs abuse, as well as a criminal record, stuff like this will even affect your employment - so who knows out of a job as well. It's not like they haven't been warned.
Bloke attacked our goalkeeper once at Stoke. He got three months inside and died in a car crash a few years later.
It would take me seconds to find out who he is, but I'm just so ashamed I'm just keeping away from it all. Look at my avatar mate, who I consider to be our best player, what must someone like him think of all this. Terrible.
