I watched the highlights again, and again. I just can't understand how the Norwich goal wasn't offside. Their player was interfering with play .. he acted as though he was going for the ball and our player reacted. Offside.
Always interesting to see this stuff. The (mild) surprise for me is I'd expect Patterson to be higher than 11, is it kicking accuracy or facing more shots that would bump him up do you reckon?
If it isn't punished it could become a tactic tbh. An attacker can hang around in the opposition's half, distracting the keeper and defence, only to allow players to run past when the ball is hoofed upfield. The Norwich player knew 100% he was offside but went deliberately for the ball ... ... therefore deliberately affecting the play
Agree 100%, that's got to be ungentlemanly conduct, we've had some appalling decisions against us this season and you just don't see these officials getting any better any time soon.
Some argument about him being online with a defender in the middle, seen a few pics of it and it’s a close call and can’t really say for sure wether he was off or not
are second goal yesterday was obviously class by clarke and calm finish by neil, but that little run by rusyn created the space for that goal
Nice to be back to winning ways. We were on top throughout and without going in to the controversy of their goal I felt we responded to that set back very well. The second goal is class, Clarkey weaving past two or three and then Neil with the intelligence to move into the space created by the movement of Rusyn, canny finish as well. Barring Fassnachts header they offered little in the second half and we wrap it up with the penna. Clarke was brilliant, Neil was brilliant and Trai Hume had a great game. I was impressed with Rusyns graft and movement and we need to persist with him. He'll score goals.
I know I’m getting on a bit, but can’t recall Ballard getting booked probably because I was in a daze with the linesman display in front of our stand
Great all round performance and back to winning ways. Another utterly dreadful inconsistent refereeing performance. The sooner they’re mic’d up the better they’re either corrupt or totally incompetent.
There's a bit of debate on twitter as well to get clarification on it. I thought he was booked but a few others aren't sure.
So we were sat the east stand, L8 . There was a bloke shouting behind us, had a pop at Neil. 30 seconds later he scored his goal. Shut the bloke behind us right up. Happy with that. From where I was sitting their goal was offside, but even if Ekwah made a mistake the rest of the game he was immense. His passes to Roberts were great Neil, Roberts and Clarke had typically good games. Jobe looked slightly off the pace yesterday, would have been nice to see Pritchard on for him 10 minutes earlier. Thought Rusyn had some nice play, hopefully he'll get a run of games ahead of Burstow. 2nd half I didn't see much play close up, as they didn't get up to the final third many times. I can only remember one time I thought they were through and likely to score. Rest of the time solid defending and everything covered by Pato. Great to be able to get my grandad out to the game (92), and cracking first game for my son. 4 generations (my dad as well )watching the game is something special. Leicester will run away with the league. Ipswich could still drop away though. We still have a chance, but if not, I'm happy with the way we're playing, the experience our young team is getting and playoffs wont be a bad result this season.
I know one of their players got booked for pushing Ballard over... Can't remember Ballard getting booked myself
Won't be forgetting their player holding Hume , arms around his waist head on his chest and ref not giving anything then 2 seconds later yellow card against us. Ref was blind
Yes but if Ekwah makes that challenge, the offside flag has to go up. Meaning their player is interfering. The rules are clear for me in that one. What if the flag goes up after he makes the challenge and the player he challenges injures him? It’s ridiculous for me. He knew he was offside and he went to play the ball. So Our players stopped as we all knew he was off the linesman knew too.
