Boring final to be honest, I was nodding off in the last ten minutes.

I think the tail wags the dog now when it comes to rugby. The game depends on how the referee interprets the game more than anything else, especially in the scrum.

Having fast, skill full backs can be nullified by having a ref who doesn’t like the way your tight head binds, as the penalty count adds up.

I played as a centre so maybe I’m biased but can you remember when the centres influenced a game anywhere near as much the props? It’s hard enough to fathom out what the **** is going at the scrum when you’re watching it on the TV with expert ex players giving their opinion. It must be baffling watching from the stands.

As was pointed out earlier SA didn’t score a single try in the final and managed one in the semi. Both games, unless your team was playing, were turgid.

No wonder many are saying the game is in crisis.

Do you wonder if as the players are now so fit they need to reduce the teams to 13 or summat?

I’ve heard the suggestion of uncontested scrums.

I'd suggest a giant version of the scrummer utilized in Subbuteo Rugby.

The scrum half could clamber on top and drop the ball down the hole.

WTF is Tom Daley(far right) doing at a Rugby Match? I think someone has muddled up their Subbuteo Rugby and High Dive pieces?

The rules are way over my head. Something happened at a lineout, maybe a knock on, but the video refs spotted a previous infraction. Stop, all watch replays, decision given, restart. Glad that is sorted then. whooosh. Doffs hat to those who are able to make erudite comments on the match. Sorry it was not the showcase you hoped.

Maybe the points of penalties needs reducing from 3 to 2... conversion from 2 to 1, points for a try 6 points...

solid if unspectacular win tonight, only time we looked in trouble was when we went down to 14 men

Maybe not the right result but that will have been quite a day out for Den. Cracking game, cracking atmosphere.
