Warnock is definitely the answer short term to get us fighting, and he's good at inspiring struggling teams
Exactly,it's all about the here and now, let's look at possible "capable" bods when we're safe..not a time to **** about with an up and coming manager with not much experience,we need a manager with vast experience of these situations and one who will knock these players into shape sharpish.
The board don't inspire me with any confidence to make a good decision/appointment. We all have our own opinions on who might be able to rescue us from relegation and thats the number one priority now. It would be 'mini warnock' for me as in Nathan Jones. Don't particularly like the guy but I believe he's ruthless enough and tactically aware at this level to achieve what we need. Short term though, due to giving every bugger a 3 year contract, I reckon it will be Warnock til the end of the season as that would suit both parties. Whether he still has it in him is a different matter.
I'm not keen on Warnock, just don't like the guy, also at 74 has he still got it? What is his recent record like? He's not spending very long in roles these days is he? It would be interesting to know what input goes into these decisions particularly as we now have no one in the senior hierarchy with football nous.
What’s not to like? He saved Hudds last season with a **** squad seven points from safety. Get the band back together. Hill as assistant and Faurlin on set pieces. Taarabt could work in that shisha place I go to that streams football illegally round the corner. It’ll be great.
Warnock has built such an impressive reputation as a turnaround king on so many occasions I think players start to believe the moment he walks through the door. No eyebrows, but an aura.
Who would you prefer? Warnock may not have it in him anymore but we're already drinking in the last chance saloon.
Rotherham - in relegation zone when he took over, survived. Cardiff - struggling when he took over, promoted to PL following season Middlesborough - in 21st on goal difference with 8 games to go when he took over, finished 17th. Huddersfield - in relegation zone when he took over, survived.
I'm no big Warnock fan, especially as he still hasn't answered Ubers letter, and worry if he comes back, but really who else is there that could sort this pile of **** out and get us over the line. I said early in the "Ainsworth out" thread that Warnock til the end of the season and a new man in for the next...possibly move Warnock upstairs in some capacity? Handing out a three-year deal to someone now and expecting them to turn this round just sets us up for another disaster.
Speaking of the boards decision/appointment making, maybe they will bring back Sir Les as a manager. (Remember you heard it here first)
Gotta agree with Col and the Warnock's mojo, not sure he can rise up to one last challenge he is starting to look a little frail.
I find it remarkable how fans, including so many on here, have selective memory syndrome. I do remember the almost unanimous cry posted on here that he had to go because 'he had lost the dressing room' was tactically inept and a horrible person. Not to mention the bandwagon that quickly developed behind Mark Hughes and then when that went pear-shaped Harry Redknapp. You know who you are. Can some one tell us who they think would actually be successful and play enough nice football to win you over before the next appointment is made and he is roundly condemned with "not my choice but I will give him my support". Well for a couple of games at least.
I was at the MK Wimbledon game where the fans turned. We were appalling and I wanted him gone. Obviously with hindsight the next appointment was dreadful and even if we’d gone down with Warnock we’d be in a better place now
