Aside from our first few months of PL life in 2008 - Marco Silva's stint was the best bit in the top flight.
I want to see us go up because I want us to be the best we possibly can and be on the pitch against the best etc.... But I have to admit I enjoy the championship more
I've got the attention span of an, ummm, sorry - just thinking that I need to pay the company that services our boiler for a corroded pipe they replaced. I can do that tomorrow. As you were. Anyway, I can't think beyond the next game. When Delap scored last night, I (once again) frightened the dog by jumping up (à propos nothing to him), and screaming YES whilst shaking a clenched fist like Basil Fawlty dispatching an irritating guest. From the 75th minute I was just watching the clock, counting down in 5 minute blocks, convinced that we couldn't hold out. 6 minutes injury time was met with a groan - that's that then, another draw. . Approaching the 95th minute I started to relax. We should be alright so long as Lewie and Cyrus can keep the ball near their corner flag. I can't cope with thinking whether we'll be in the Premier League, the Championship or League One. One game at a time. That's all my nerves can stand.
Preston end sold out obvs only coming for the HDM. Someone’s going to get a battering soon. Why not Preston. City 3-0 ****cashire
I think most fans of a championship side who get into premier league, enjoy the championship more, because it's a more level playing field...I know a few Blunts fans who said they never wanted to get promoted. Even before they started to get tanked, every game.
Today I learned... the manager of Ebeneezer Cobb Morley is a Preston North End fan. I think it's kind of poetic given Preston used to be the home of the National Football Museum.
When we win promotion he'll be on here saying "Why's everyone happy, we're going to get battered in the PL"
Another tough test, they are well drilled and not easy to break down. I hope we go with 2 wingers, will Liam stick with Twine in the number 10 role, or go with either Traore or Tufan? I guess the other question will be the back four same as Birmingham, or drop Macca and bring in Vinagre, personally I would go with the former. Furthermore, I hope Morton is okay, he looked uncomfortable when he came off Wednesday evening, so he could be a doubt. Would Tufan take his place, not ideal, but with Slater out not much choice?
Can we stick it to this perennial set of grinders , their fans gave it so large last year here especially in the station afterwards it was really annoying to watch - I’m not bitter
First half of Bruce's second season was fun in patches, we had (on paper) our best ever squad and were reasonably free flowing. Had that 2-2 draw at Arsenal we should have won and similarly a 2-2 with Newcastle. A blend of workhorses like Chester, McShane, Brady, Huddlestone, Meyler and Livermore with flair of Hernandez, Diame, Robertson, Jelavic.
