    Here we go then:

    upload_2023-10-24_15-21-57.png

All 8 go for an Argyle win but there's a suspicion of Green Tinting in there perhaps. More reliably, there are 7 on Leicester, West Brom and Leeds to win. There's a good spread on the Super Match but someone is bound to get lucky.

    upload_2023-10-24_15-49-10.png

Quite a spread of jokers: mine on the Super Match. Am I mad? Why am I talking to myself?

This set of games produced a game of two halves, with the matches evenly split over two days. I was in the lead with 11 points after the Tuesday games but reverted to form yesterday, getting to a total of only 13. Away and Joe scored heavily last night, particularly on the Argyle game.

SMH got the goal time, which is increasingly a joke due to the huge amounts of added time we're playing. He predicted 45 minutes, by which he presumably meant just before the half-time whistle. The first goal went in the 44th minute, but by half time, we were 2-0 up as we played on to the 51st minute!

The biggest laugh in all that is that Houghton was booked after a Wednesday free kick given against him. It's in midfield, the Wednesday player is perfectly within his rights to put the ball down quickly and tries a quick through ball before the Argyle defence can reposition. But the ball strikes Houghton who hasn't had time to withdraw AND THE REF STOPS THE PLAY to book Houghton. Wednesday then have to retake the free kick, this time with 11 Green shirts between the ball and goal! Where is the sense in that?

And in answer to you Sensible, it's perfectly simple. The Wednesday keeper had an extended lie-down in the first half coming conveniently after a spell when Argyle shots had peppered his goal, so we had 10 minutes of extra time of which we played 6 as far as I can see. Seven minutes of extra time were signalled for the second half, odd as there were 0 substitutions in the first half as against 10 in the second half. So 10 minutes were signalled in the first half, of which we played 6 and 7 minutes signalled for the second half, of which we played 10. What's weird about that? It's the new FIFA IOWISIO Rule. It's Over When I Say It's Over.

Right, so you will be pleased to know that the next round doesn't start until Saturday, albeit at 12:30. I'm going for Leeds United v Huddersfield for the Super Match, a genuine local derby, 15 miles as the crow flies with barely a green field on the route. Good luck with that one, but not too much.

No indeed there’s something wrong with that. I didn’t think we’d win 3-0 either no so I’ll have to review that,

The 2-2 is the Argyle score I think. I will delete it and start again!

Just like a PM at PMQs you missed that one completely by your reply in the results post. You did a Joker on the super match and up to the 99th Minute had 12 points. Then it was 4 in the blink of an eye..........

I did miss that, I thought you were referring to the amount of added time, which was bizarre enough to warrant comment. The main thing is that Argyle got the points and it's good to see Hardie back in the goals after a lull.

Did you by the way notice the contretemps between their keeper and Pilgrim Pete when they came out for the second half? Pilgrim Pete does push the boundaries of mascot behaviour at times - taking the mickey out of the ref and linos warming up for example - but this was a new one.

He'd occupied the Demport End goal before the players returned, casually leaning against a post, and when the Wednesday keeper got there, he didn't meet Pete's gaze. After a few seconds fiddling with his gloves pretending he hadn't seen this strange creature in his goal, he felt it necessary to go and have a chat with his centre forward team mate in the centre circle. Coward. Pilgrim Pete continued to prop the post up until the referee returned and only then gave up his occupation of the goal mouth. A weird and slightly unnerving episode. If it had come to blows the keeper wouldn't have had a chance given Pilgrim Pete's extensive body armour but I can see complaints being made if he does that again.
