what a pleasure to see us going for the 3rd goal and trying to kill a game off . instead of the only thought being , lets keep it tight, despite it not happening was still good to see us try, guess thats what comes when you have an attacker in the dugout! more of the same i hope!
A very positive performance well done Nick and the boys i was working so had to listen on the wireless i can not wait for the Burnley game especially as they have been a bogey team for us of late
We played with freedom today some of the flicks and little balls in the final 3rd were great we could have had more. They looked composed and dangerous with the ball and worked hard to close down up the pitch when they had it. Great performance from the fans and the players.
Attackers will express themselves because they have a manager who instinctively knows what that means and has embraced the idea during his career as player; Pearson had all of the charisna to poorly express a fart and that rubbed off on his flair players. Great result, far more to come!
Barmby's philosophy seems to be to encourage enthusiasm and the sheer enjoyment of playing. I was really pleased with how things were going under NP, and alright it's very early days, but it looks like one of the best things he's done for us is to leave like he did. BARMBY ARMY.
Had a bet at the match, 2-0 Fryatt to score first goal. Odds 40 to 1. Spent a very nervous 2nd half, how on earth we didn't add to the score I'll never know. That was the only worry - they could still be playing now and Derby wouldn't score.
My first away game this season - we controlled the game from start to finsish and played some excellent one touch football and to be honest looked a division above them at times. 4-0 wouldn't have flattered us. Pleased for NB.
Hull City attacking??? I think the show of total support for NB was just as important as the result to be honest. Very chuffed for NB, its great to see us not looking back.
From listening on the radio today was the first time in a while that i've felt we'd bag a few goals, we always seemed to be coming forward and threatening the Derby goal. Fryatt sounded like a different player to the shot shy striker we'd seen recently. Can only bode well for the season and Nick's chance of getting the job full time if this continues.
Training kit....Excellent.. The Sainted Nick is looking the part. I hate to see a manager in a poncey jacket and tie number eg Phil Brown, plus the brown brouges.....OMG...Where are those Posh Slappers Trinny and the other bint when you need them...
Agree with this. They were very energetic, I've never seen them win so many tackles, we kept nicking it in their half. Only one criticism is that we were still a little bit wasteful with the ball around their area, a couple of times we could have gone 3-0 up in the second half but we just gradually played it away from goal. Still an excellent performance mind. This 'attacking' thing is annoying me a bit though, people are making out as though under NP we were just a 'park the bus' sort of side which is the exact opposite of what we are. Anyone of this view needs to think about the away teams we've seen at the KC like Watford and West Ham and compare their ethos to ours in our last few away games (including today but also the ones before that under NP). We never stop attacking away from home! Don't get me wrong I'm as pissed of at NP as anyone* but it doesn't mean he's suddenly a **** manager just because we don't like him any more. *Actually based on today, I don't give a **** about him
we started to play good football under pearson, until we went 1-0 up, then the emphasis was on keeping them out, we maybe did keep playing football, but the full backs would have been kept back, midfield kept in front of the back 4 etc... yesterday there was no sign of that, we where going for the 3rd goal, no sign of protecting what we had, rosenoir was still getting up and down as a winger, evans and mckenna still getting up on the edge of there box, never would have happened under that boring twat.
They said on the FLS last night that yesterday was the first time we'd won a game by more than a one goal margin this season. In fact, you have to go back to the Donny game at the back end of last season for the last time we won by more than a one goal margin. I was delighted that we were going forward looking for more goals, although happy with winning games under NP sitting back on the 1 goal advantages (more at home) was a bit fustrating at times when we had the potential to put goals past teams, as yesterday showed.
There was another small change change yesterday, after the warm up, all the players came over and applauded the fans before they went in. It's not that unusual for them to do it at the end of the game and you get the odd player clapping the fans as they walk off after the warm up, but I don't remember the entire squad making a point of all coming over to applaud the fans in the past. It was a nice touch.
I think Nick might be reminiscing about his time at Spurs playing in a front 5. All for that, but lets's get 2 or 3 goals up first.
