Agree, and as I mentioned, sad for me as it crossed my mind and in previous years I'd have entertained the thought, but this year I dismissed it as with these players and this manager it is never going to happen.
So looking forward to this "great performance this saturday" that i may take one of the staples out of my eyelids!! "We could be one of the sunday paper back page headlines this week". Yeah, i dont fecking doubt it
I am, of course, expecting a tonking on Saturday - maybe even a tonking-and-a-half; but I have to look back to my first of my on;y four matches when we hosted WHU on a Boxing Day way back when we were in the same division as them - they in 1st place and we in about 14th. A final score of 3-nil except not for them - this was a QPR win. So I think of that, Derby vs 10 man Zamora, and Burnley last year. I keep hoping against all reason.. It is the hope that gets you Oh well, I think we all know what is coming on Sat but COYRs nevertheless
Unfortunately I can’t see us winning this one at all. It has the potential of a massive thrashing and hopefully we will not set any new records. I regret to say that the only “hope” which I see how is that Leicester will get bored and will “declare”, and not run into double numbers. I have just arrived in Australia and plan to switch off my phone and see the result, and damage done, in the morning when I wake up. Unfortunately, I am mentally prepared and am expecting the worse. Very sad times to be following the R’s when this is meant to be “entertainment” and “fun”.
One to remember, 9 years ago this game broke the record for the most attempts at goal in a PL match, Charlie with the winner...
Take a look at Reading, hooped shirts are not the only similarity. Mismanagement and overspending have sent them spiralling down and we should be able to see exactly how difficult it is to pull out of the nosedive. League One is a really tough prospect, Portsmouth have taken over a decade to break their slump, Bradford longer. Derby, Charlton, Bolton and Wigan are in decline and finding it's no easy ride back. Those saying we need to go down to start winning again may find it's harder now than before and we will have difficulty attracting players. I really fear for us with the current clowns running the club...
There may be a real or perceived obligation to do these pre and post match interviews, but 11 minutes! Jesus that’s a long time for a bloke in his position to talk. Show him some mercy. I don’t actually listen to these of course.
If only we could do that on Saturday..... you know something odd like attacking football and scoring goals....
I just think you can talk about some areas you are working on without giving away any strategy (?). ‘Things’ is just so vague. We’re looking for something to give us some confidence. But that’s always going to be difficult now I know.
How about I'll be leaving after this game, but I intend to go out on a high and play a 3-5-2 formation with a really high press and everyone running their bollocks off until they drop !
