    Money.

    Ruined the game.
All the precious players who can't be tackled, can't play two games a week. All the passion has gone.
It's all tippy tappy triangles now. Pass pass pass pass pass and back to the keeper. Repeat for ten minutes.
Give me Chopper Harris any day.

BREAKING Everton face record-breaking 12-point deduction as Premier League demand brutal punishment. Everton are thought to have recorded financial loses of £371.8million - £266.8m over budget.

Everton are alleged to have breached Financial Fair Play (FFP) rules - with the Premier League wanting to impose a 12-point deduction on Sean Dyche's struggling team

The Toffees, who have narrowly avoided relegation in each of the last two seasons, are said to have breached the Premier League's financial rules. It's believed English football's leading division wants them to face a severe punishment, setting a strong example.

This is what happens when clubs have a go at the top 6 or 7. It's a state owned game now. Old ways of football are dead.

Stuff like this is the reason I'm happy with the situation at Sunderland.

    Me too mate.

Ironically it's taken the pressure off and we can just enjoy the football with a few like Clarke and Amad to admire plus the odd cup run, promotion and Wembley.

I'd be happy if we never signed another slovenly mercenary, like Rodwell or Grigg ...

... or did an Everton and plunged the club into massive debt.

This is why I'm fairly calm when we lose to leicester. I'm enjoying the football, enjoying seeing us not spend loads on players and not breaking bank to keep ross Stewart. It's actually really refreshing and I'm genuinely not arsed about getting back into prem league right now.

Everton have always been a club above their station mate. Lucky geographically to get ex Liverpool players,Man U and now City players. Spunked countless millions on players and for what? Give me our set up any day. Much rather that then cannon fodder for the rest of the Premier leauge. You think Sheffield United fans look forward to the weekend? Do they f**k. HTL

Sheff Utd currently conceding almost three goals a game, one point and possibly won't win a game this season ...

... I hate them so I'd really ike that to happen <laugh>

don't forget how close we came, the club was a complete financial sh1t show not too long ago and while i admire those that have done well to 'return' this club has done a great job over the past couple of seasons...think we have reached a bit of a levelling out point (we are in no race to reach the premier until we are more sustainable) it was always expected.

i don't wish anything bad on everton, like us they have had to spend recent years watching and reading about their neighbours grabbing all the media but if they have been stupid enough to break the rules and lose those points it could be the season to break them.

That was going on well before City. Blackburn, United and Arsenal are far bigger culprits in what you're talking about.

Questions should've been asked when they spent 45 million quid on Sigurdsson after being a team that didn't have the means prior to that. There's Spending, then there's 45 million. We did have a "go", but 13 was our limit. They also have the stadium to pay for. Looking grim

I know people will say 'Oh yes but it's the supporters who'll suffer'.

No they won't, their club may be fined or relegated but they'll still exist ... if they stayed up by cheating, they deserve to be punished. If a club like Leeds were relegated, instead of Everton, it could damage them for years to come.

It was obvious Everton were cheating, they just thought they'd get away with it.

"Everton and their proposed owners 777 Partners could be sued for £300m by Leeds United, Leicester City and Burnley should they be found guilty of breaching spending rules.

The trio of clubs – two in the Championship and one in the Premier League – could chase the Toffees in court should they be found to have avoided relegation by breaking Premier League spending rules."

This is bollocks by the way. They broke the rules they may well get punished at a later date which doesn't help the relegated team but trying to sue them.is a load of ****e!

I totally agree mate, just posting what's happening.

The blame, all of it, lies with the PL who should be doing much more to prevent this kind of thing ...

... not post-mortem when the damage has been done.

Allowing clubs like Derby to sell their own stadiums ffs <doh>

I agree it may be bollocks but are you trying to tell me you wouldn’t sue when another club could have basically stole £135 million off you. I don’t blame them at all for thinking of suing.

I can see where the clubs are coming from. Problem is we have this with Everton, but what about City, Chelsea and most recently the Mags. The clubs that have had new owners come in and spend money that they would never dream of before. All 3 have to be breaking the rules somewhere along the line (the mags might be within atthe moment down to how sensibly Ashley spent, sorry ill rephrase that to meet the lie their fans and the media spouted how much of a greedy bastard who didn't spend what they deserved). Are they going to be punished somewhere along the line and if so are they going to be sued by all the teams who finished below them?

It's the league that need shooting with **** letting certain teams spend hundreds of millions a season to win/buy the league!

I agree mate but it has to start somewhere sometime, if three clubs sued Everton I think the gods from above might look a bit closer to who they let buy clubs, what do you think?
