I really with it was at the Signal Iduna. Can't wait for us to come out at that stadium, it's an immense place to play football. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/ogcCHEU9A9Y
Watched their game against Werder Bremen on Friday. They were okay but nothing special. I don't think they will roll over like PSG did but I think we can beat them. They don't seem to have anyone particularly pacy so our defence should be okay.
Is Botman back ? Seriously Newcastle never field a strong side.... I don't know how they do so well with the dross taking up several positions
If we'd never heard of Jacob Murphy before last season and we'd signed him for £30m in August 2022 I reckon the fan base would be of the view we'd made a good signing. I genuinely have no idea how Howe does it.
Same with most - Lacselles has come back in the team and looked solid if not spectacular. You could make a case for nearly every player he's come in and coached. Schar was always good but his game has stepped up several levels under Howe, Lacselles. Dummy after a year out looks like he can do a job. Longstaff, Almiron, Joelinton and Murphy have all gone to utter dross to decent EPL players. Insane how he's made all of them better.
Top of the group vs bottom of the group! They aren't as good as PSG so we will put 6 past them . Looking forward to this. Hope the atmosphere matches that of the PSG game.
I did notice that on Friday PSG went top of League One and yesterday AC Milan would have gone top of Serie A if they'd won. Apparently though we only got results against them because they are both poor teams and I'm sure if we beat Dortmund we'll all be told they're rubbish too. I'm sure if any of these teams get a result against Arsenal/Man City later in the competition we'll hear a different story.
Indeed. And the "useless" Mbappe who has "completely gone off the boil" (and therefore didn't get a look in against Newcastle), has scored 7 goals in 7 games this season. But no doubt, "anyone can score in France".
He came off with about 25 mins left on Saturday, he'll be fine. I think he might rest him against Man Utd in the cup.
Same team but Almiron for Murphy and Isak for Wilson. Possibly Tonali for Joelinton or Longstaff if his ban hasn't started, we might aswell use him while we can.
