There's footage of Son limping off the pitch at half time vs Vietnam. It's a friendly, they're 6-0 up against 10 men and it's the 94th minute. He's still playing. Oh, he also scored and got clattered by a pair of defenders: https://streamin.me/v/828af076
No idea why they didn't take him off after he scored (putting them 4-0 up) in the 60th minute, what with it being an international friendly and Vietnam having someone sent off
They shouldn't have called him up in the first place. He's carrying an injury and they were playing two friendlies. He didn't play in the first one and the second team is ****.
If we want a right-sided Udogie, I hear that Michael Kayode at Fiorentina is looking scarily good for a 19yo
Sierra Leone won 2-0 in Somalia in a friendly earlier. Curtis Davies made his debut for the visitors. Yes, that Curtis Davies. He's 38. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/africa/67101242
Was that Bastoni that Kane out paced and brushed aside to score lastnight , The same Bastoni that Conte was wanting Levy to break the bank for 18 months ago ? I thought Italy looked weaker after Udogie went off, could be they were chasing the game more but either way Destiny had a good game
It's really unfortunate that when our international competitors are at a low ebb, and England has some of the best attacking players on the planet we have a manager who lacks flair and ambition. Picking players who are not even playing for their clubs is just ridiculous. He manages like he played, steady, defensive, and mediocre.
He had a very good game considering he was booked after 8 minutes when sold short by a teammate. Looks the real deal that lad!
Starting Hendo in the friendly was a madness. Plenty of younger players he could have taken a look at. I don’t mind him coming on late to steady the ship in a big competitive game though. He’s experienced and a steadying presence for England. I definitely have criticisms of Southgate but it’s hard to argue with his overall results compared to his predecessors.
