Yeah I did sense as though it was just to get the people moving, then IDF will slowly go in, I'm assuming they don't want Hamas hiding with the civilians, so Hamas then has to fight them face to face or flee undercover of the mass exodus - Israel know the latter will happen, but I think they just are going to clear the area for no one to ever be able to return. I don't know what the military logistics plan is but I assume the IDF want that first quarter as a no go zone, even though Gaza is already over populated. If Hamas really were still in there, they could plant boobytraps for the advancing soldiers I suppose, hence like the awaiting drones on rooftops that they found. The journos seem to think it's going to become an area of urban warrfare.
I don't see how it's going to work but what do I know. There are enough military experts especially from the U.S. helping Israelis plan this, but I don't see them being able to do anything unless they go into the civilian populated area because like you say, that's where Hamas will go. So, what you're saying is that the area that's been vacated becomes the war zone? They vacate the population then expect Hamas to be tempted to come out and fight them. I can see that working, can see it going horribly wrong as well but maybe it's the best way of doing it while minimising civilian casualties. I saw a video on the IDF training in tunnels so that's another thing. Also there are the 150 hostages. What are they going to do about them if they've been moved to the south.
They reckon if the IDF go in there against Hamas, then Hamas will still have the upper hand because they know the territory - but this is why I think they want the civi's out, because if Hamas show their face then they will just shell the areas, well whatever is left shell. If I was Hamas I'd leave with the mass exodus, until another day. Anyway, it appears the Hamas attack had been in planning for a year, since October 2022, they've recovered documents off dead militia. Very detailed documents, from population per zone, security in that area, and how many Hamas will be required to go in, although planned a lot finer than I can be arsed to explain on here.
