Aha! Thanks. OK it's a separate Forum rather than a thread, I remember posting on it in the past, but couldn't find where it was listed.
No it's a thread on the Saints board. It's on the first page of the board so not sure why you couldn't see it.
Not visible on my list for some reason, thanks anyway. No posts showing on it since 2021 there may be an issue here?
Last post was yesterday, here: https://www.not606.com/threads/southampton-women’s-team.394588/page-10#post-17052345
I thought the problem was that players and managers of every team already know Saints tactics because they have played Russel Martin teams before. The Ipswich player was quoted as saying they played against Swansea and MKD in previous seasons, so knew the way Saints would play better than the Saints players.
Che Adams missing two easy chances for Scotland this evening against Spain. His recent form doesn't bode well for our Jan transfer fee.
Spain 1-0 Scotland "His shot lands perfectly for Che Adams but the substitute can only prod the ball at the keeper from close range." That's not like Che to kick it straight at the keeper.
Just got tickets for the tactical session hosted by Kenzie Benali from Jason Wilcox and RM next Weds. Bold move to take this on. I have submitted a question.
Question: why do we never break or counter attack at pace? Why do we always let the opposition set themselves
No but with the money in the prem and desperation that the struggling clubs will be feeling we will get a decent fee. It is a pretty low risk transfer too as if the buying team does get relegated they have a top championship striker (lets not pretend he isn't) ready and waiting.
He still had his walking cast on last week, so no time soon I would guess. Similarly, even if Stewart is physically fit, it`ll take him several games to get up to full match fitness. So I wouldn`t think they`ll be 100% ready until mid November at the earliest.
My question was: From defending corners what is the rationale for not having defenders on the posts and why do we not have at least one player (preferably 2) pushed up to force the opposing side to cover them? QPR did this with great affect against us this season. I figured there will be plenty ripping into his tippy tappy tactics
It’s also to have less congestion around the keeper/give him a clearer view in terms of the near post. My question would be: Why are you asking one of the best attacking sides in the league (on paper) to play percentage football when attacking and not relying on their instincts/ability
That wouldn’t wash with me at all. The number of times a header finds the net in a corner far outweighs the potential for tap ins!
