Philogene is probably the most exciting player on the ball we’ve had since KLP and I dare say he’s better than him or at least has potential to be better than him.
Delap Is a serious player can tell he’s of that higher ilk and that’s why he’s on loan. Philogene on the other hand is somehow ours and is on that same level. Both look every bit as good as Lewis and Elliot.
If Madueke has a good couple of months with Chelsea, he’d be knocking on the door for a senior cap. Unfortunately for him, he has to challenge Saka for a spot. The wealth of attacking talent England has and has coming through the youth set-up is remarkable. Shame it’s being wasted with a subpar coach.
England 9 Serbia 1 Philogene 2, Delap 1. I've never known two Hull City players score for any national team in the same game. Must be a record? England were outstanding after going one down, Philogene in particular, he must have doubled in value tonight. Rosiball aswell? Simply stunning and only 14,500 at the City ground to watch it.
Southgate should be on trial in The Hague for picking the likes of Henderson when Harvey Elliott could get a call-up to the senior team. What was striking about that game wasn’t just the huge gap in quality between England u21s and Serbia u21s but the physicality and fitness. Our players are obviously much better players but they were also just stronger, fitter, quicker etc. Most of our u21s play for Prem clubs or top clubs in Europe so would have access to the best facilities and training regimens in football. It’s not just a skill gap as Serbia actually played some decent football at times but they were second in every department.
Made in Hull!!!!!...... congrats to both.... As has been said above, Acun take a bow. I remember Tan saying they were trying hard to arrange Jadens loan and then Acun said 'just buy him' and the whole deal dynamic changed... we are lucky, LR is luckier!!!!
Never mind just 'Acun take a bow' although Philogenes value has doubled tonight, some credit must go to City's scouting network because none of the 'experts' on here would have known who Jaden Philogene was just a few months ago, adding, I told you all that Lee Lee Darnbourgh was no mug.
Four attacking returns in his outings so far including a goal and an assist last time out for Philogene seems reasonable.
