Very hard to get neutral commentary on it as I found out when I tried educating myself further a few years back.

Best you can do is to use various sources from both sides and try find some balance in between imo.

On another note, is anyone else skeptical of this so called complete intelligence failure?

Given the scale of this it must have been in the works for quite some time and the idea that an intelligence agency as renowned as Mossad knew absolutely nothing about it beggars belief.

The cynic in me says they knew it was coming but let it happen as it can now be used as an excuse to step up their attacks and further expand settlements.

This feels like Russian propaganda to me. Saw a load of Russian bot accounts spreading the same sentiment.

No intelligence agency is completely infallible

So it begins. Here's a report on an AI-generated audio of Keir Starmer. Viewed by over a million so far. I wonder how many of them know it's faked?

What makes me laugh is seeing woke liberals come out and support Palestine, in western countries.

Ok… go to Gaza and see how they treat you. You will be raped, tortured and beheaded just for being who you are.

Then followed by this denunciation of the BBC by a sitting MP based on a clearly faked tweet.

People falling for nonsense and repeating it.

And, despite replies pointing out that there's no such person at the BBC (a check he should have made), his original post is still there. No problem whatsoever in undermining one of the most trusted news sources in the world, I guess...

Does anyone know of any documentary’s that offer a Birds Eye, neutral view of the Gaza situation?

I am genuinely interested to know a lot more from a neutral perspective as it is clearly a big deal.

This will probably all escalate massively now so before WW3 kicks off I would like some perspective (just kidding.. hopefully)

Also does anyone have any more evidence of Israel killing Palestinians etc?

Because people are saying Israel are just as bad as Hamas but I have no knowledge of it.

Add this to your reading list. Written 40 years ago it gives a clear, accurate history of the origins of the Israeli/ Palestinian conflict that persists in Israel and what's left of Palestine today.

Which high profile ones with any influence are saying this? I’m not following everyone on this. I am currently listening to James OB on LBC and he is doing the exact opposite of what you say and pushing back very strongly. And he is arguably the biggest left leaning media voice in the country by profile.

I’m not talking about fringe Twitter figures. It isn’t reasonable to judge either the left or the right as a whole by what the most extreme people online say

One of the other big problems with mass migration into the west, is that we are importing other conflicts here.

I expect to see violence in the western world as a result of these attacks as well

And please remember the words O’Brien uses to describe this atrocity:

    Unjustifiable, indefensible, and unthinkable.

And has attacked anyone calling in with any semblance of a “but…” to follow those words.

May I suggest you research the Sykes-Picot Agreement of 1916, and also the influence of Chaim Weizmann, the future President of Israel, on British foreign policy. The treatment of both Arabs and Jews by the Western Powers, including Russia, in the early 20th Century led in large part to the intractable conflicts in the Middle East.

Occasionally thought we ought to call the area something other than "The Middle East" it smacks of colonialism, the region is West of most of the worlds population......

I will, but as Gad Saad eloquently wrote earlier:

“The reason why free-thinking immigrants are the staunchest defenders of Western values is because we've sampled from the buffet of diabolical societies. As such, we know that the West is an anomaly that must be preserved. Most progressive Westerners are imbeciles who have fallen prey to parasitic ideas that will bring about the fall of the West. Read The Parasitic Mind.”

For all our faults if you delve into history, our recent history suggests we are doing something right

My wife is Israeli having moved there as a child with her family from Georgia (former USSR) in the early eighties to escape the conflict at the time. Her family are still in Israel and are thankfully safe although rockets have landed near to our nephew's schools.

Whilst not Jewish myself, our kids do go to a Jewish school as it's widely regarded (especially the high school) and is a true mixture of religions. But even with the security they have in place, there is a nervousness about taking them to school.

The indiscriminate nature of the violence committed by Hamas is truly chilling whilst the news reports of point blank executions of children particularly resonant especially as we got our kids ready to go to school this morning.

Having to reassure a 10 year old that he is safe in school and asking him about the drills they perform has been sobering. As OS pointed out earlier, the goal for Hamas is extermination of Jews and not just a separate Palestinian state.

It concerns me that even here in the supposed enlightened UK, that I am having to tell my kids to hide who they are and which school they go to for fear of attack. For fear that he could be a target although he is not Israeli, the conflation of Jews being synonymous with Israeli is part of this problem.

I fully agree that Israel as a nation have been abominable in the way they have treated those on the West Bank over years, however the level of UK reporting (even by the BBC) has not been unbiased in its coverage. In my opinion, this is largely to blame for this shoulder shrugging attitude of those who would try and defend the actions of Hamas.

Just as an aside, our kids haven't seen or heard any of the news - but they know something has been going on as my wife has been listening to Israeli news channels all weekend.

I am sorry that you have to endure this.

I agree the defence of Hamas and conflating them with Palestine in general is shocking to witness.
Hamas are barbaric and pure evil.

I just spoke with my Israeli colleague on webcam. He is currently locked down in his flat and there have been missile strikes not far away from him and his family.

I pray that justice is served swiftly.

To be honest I just feel confused. My wife is understandably upset especially with family there and as the news from Israel tends to be more graphic than what we have here. I think the fear my eldest has is largely feeding off his mum, but I'm also certain once he gets home life goes back to normal and he'll be back on FIFA (sorry EA FC).

Ultimately, it's all just too sad. Too much interfering by countries at times and not enough interference at others. Israel should never have been allowed to expand so aggressively into Gaza but the whole geopolitical situation has been leading to this.

Tbh, I'm not keen on the whole idea of justice being served as this will just escalate and cause more unnecessary casualties. I do think Israel needs to make a coordinated effort to retrieve those who've been taken but I fear it will be a much larger operation.

Whatever does happen in the short term, I hope there's still a possibility of peace but never has this looked so far away.
