Great score but still ordinary.

Weird game ,for long spells we were all over the shop, slow as a wet week, and unable to join the front to the back.
Interspersed with endless sideways passing especially by the back 4, sometimes literally stopping and waiting to see who we could pass it to because no one seemed to know where to go, there were some really good movements and 4 well deserved goals.
So different to the great team play 1st half against Fulham, with virtually the same team bar Sterling, we looked hopelessly disjointed for long periods.
Still, winning ugly is a big step up and several players did better, Cucurella grew into game, Sterling had some great runs and some dreadful moments, Jackson looks a better bet than Broja who was possibly injured but ineffective, Casseido was not great again and Enzo was all effort little result and couldn't score in a brothel. Why he was getting all over the pitch and not playing the 6 role is a mystery.
Nearly jumped United in the table but for some Fergie time goals ( no surprise there) so a good result.

Like they said Rome wasn’t built in a day but at least we’re getting runs on the board even if the first goal was fortunate; at this stage we’ll take anything. Highlights can be deceptive I guess but at least we look more confident especially Sterling…onwards and hopefully upwards.

I watched the BBC highlights and couldn’t see anything wrong with what was televised. Sanchez made a superb save and Jackson scored a superb goal, if they’d managed that against Forest at home last month we would have won. :1980_boogie_down:

Raheem Sterling looked to be on fire - all in all a fantastic result. 3 wins on the trot and from where we were before Pochettino that’s a fantastic turnaround.

The sort of game we’d have lost recently, especially after going 1-0 down.

A few players are starting to look a bit fitter, Caicedo especially, which makes a difference. Cole Palmer could be an amazing signing btw, what a player. Have a feeling he’ll be even better once we have an overlapping full back on that side too.

That's whet we really miss on both sides, with the front men really only getting long balls from the back instead of James or Chilwell on the run. Wish to heaven we'd put Colwill in the centre of defence so we can start something from the back with passing !! Agree with Cole Palmer, he looks really good in all he does.
Big step up by all and a winning attitude starting to take hold.

James and Chilwell being perennially injured has been a major cause of our problems for the past 3 seasons.
Neither of them is able to stay fit for a prolonged period of time, and our full backs are a lot of where our attack is supplied from and without them......we are gimped.
Gusto looks decent but Cucurella is a joke and needs to go.
Once we get James, Chilwell and Nkunku fit, touch wood, we should get a whole lot better.
Am just worried how long they will stay fit for and whether we will ever get them all playing together.

Big problem. It does seem like both are injury prone OR something is not right with their conditioning given recurring hamstring injuries.
Our midfield and attack is looking much more promising especially with Nkuku to come.Selling Lewis Hall looks pretty stupid now. We have almost too much talent in the squad, but lots to improve.

Not to mention that they are our club captain and vice captain respectively.
Can't be good to have them constantly missing.
I am excited about our midfield though, it looks like its really coming together.
Jackson is looking like he is getting to grips with the PL as well, so I hope he can start banging them in <ok>
I hope Nkunku has that Eden Hazard/ Arjen Robben effect on our team....lot of pressure I know, but I can dream :p
Our defence still seems okay, we have the third best defence in the league, only Arsenal and City have conceded less goals than us. We just need to put that ball in the net more. Our last result was encouraging, hopefully, at some point, we can score more than one goal against a team that isnt going to be relegated this season. 7 of our 11 goals have been against Luton and Burnley....so there is still work to be done.
