Van de Ven absolute class, all the defence and keeper put in a great display.

Bissouma and Richarlison can get in the ****ing bin though. Richarlison permanently.

    Well in, boys, great stuff.

Nice to be able to relax for the rest of the weekend now and enjoy tomorrow’s super Sunday. A draw would be lovely!

It’s also incredible what Micky’s influence has been on Romero. He doesn’t look half as rash anymore, as you can see the confidence he has in his defensive partner.

And I think Vicario and Udogie have also been almost as impressive. Look at Onana and how he has struggled.

As great as we have been going forward, our defence has been a revelation.

Vicario has arguably impressed me the most of all new signings, mainly because I was incredibly worried about him based off the comps I’d seen, his pre-season form and shakiness at Brentford.

But since then he’s been phenomenal. It’s still very, very early days but he could be a very good Lloris replacement. Hugo set the bar extremely high but right now Vicario isn’t crumbling under the pressure to replace him.

Agree on Micky though, I think he and Romero compliment each other superbly, it’s a like a good cop, bad cop type of partnership based on their playing styles.

totally agree. With our record in recent signings I wasn’t confident at all in the pair of them and I thought Vicario looked really dodgy against Brentford. And I thought maybe Van de Ven would be a bit wooden and not able to handle the pace of the league. But they have got better and better every game and have been outstanding so far.
Apparently Onana made another mistake today for Brentford’s goal. He’s making a goal scoring mistake every game it seems like. What a shame…..

Inter wanted to replace Onana with Vicario but couldn’t afford to buy Vicario until they sold Onana, sorry about that, Inter <laugh>

totally agree. Udogie and Porro have been amazing.
Lots of fans had doubts about Porro, but he’s becoming of one my favourite players.

incredible job that Ange is doing. I certainly had my doubts as he was a risk, but credit where it’s due, Levy has hired a perfect fit for our club.

the only negative for me so far is Richarlison. I just don’t see him working in this squad. He’s too wasteful and even gets some of the basics very wrong. It feels like we’re “giving it a go” because he played 2nd fiddle to Kane and we wasted £60m on him, but performances like today (once again) are soon going to result in other players knocking on the door of Ange. We were made to think that Veliz wouldn’t be ready until December/January, but we’re gradually seeing him making the squad and getting game time. He’s got to be given a proper chance soon, IMO.

I was one of those on Porro, not his technical ability which I’ve maintained is excellent but I thought he’d get ran ragged at RB but he’s dealt with the defending side really well. He really weren’t joking when he shot back those comments at Tim Sherwood last season <laugh>

As for Richarlison, I’m just a broken record on the guy now. Worst signing in our history by a mile and the fact it’s not even close when we still technically employ Ndombele, Lo Celso and Sessegnon, it tells how you dog awful that guy has been. Dreadful all round footballer and for a forward/ striker his finishing is abysmal… it should be the one thing he’s at least decent at!
