Seems the ref thought "is it ****e a derby". lol.

Bad day at the office. 09 pushes a player in the box... nothing given, Neil calls the ref a poo head and its a yellow

I agree with you but its worth saying that if we DID have VAR on this match, Neil would have still been sent off and they'd have probably had a first half penalty.

I've heard of one going missing, maybe two.
But I've never known as many villages have a certain type of resident missing as what there is today.
Can you all go home, your village is missing you.

Probably the worst team to come back to.

I agree, but VAR might have sent Greenwood off too.

Bit disappointed how poor we managed to deal with being one man down.
Maybe down to inexperience. We were too loose in midfield and open on the left side.

It’s just hit me there. Are Monty’s posts like that meant with humour but very dry? I mean, very dry.

FWIW I think if Neil had gone down injured and Aouchiche had come on for him, I don't think the outcome would have been MASSIVELY different. I don't necessarily think the 10 men was the problem. It was the no centre midfielder.

Aouchice and Jobe are both brilliant. But neither are holding midfielders.

I was going to catch up the thread having been out since 8 this morning, read a few pages and won't bother.

like the bloke behind me who after constantly mouthing off for the first 25 minutes I asked to shut up as he was annoying everybody around him.

I have decided that having one of those days and accepting it was it will happen and the sky isn't falling in is a minority and best left.

    Haway the lads

More upset with Neil than the ref. Players should always note that refs can behave like ****s. Just dont give them an excuse to send you off. For dissent whilst on a yellow is unforgivable. Particularly in an evenly matched game, 10 seconds before half time, in what is arguably our biggest league game of the season.

For me bookings and sendings off for dissent should be contained to charging 30+ yards to scream directly into the refs face, suggesting to the referee that he/she is cheating or biased or blatant petulance like kicking a ball away in temper or thrashing a water bottle or something into the deck. Having a general whinge, bad language or just disagreeing strongly with a decision is part and parcel of the game. You will never stop it. Where do you draw the line...bookings for shaking your head!?

I agree with the point you’re making, don’t think it would have been a 4-0 mind or even necessarily a defeat but we would have been exposed for sure. We had a fantastic summer window, but made one mistake imo, and that was not getting one more body for CDM. When Ekwah or Neil are missing we have an issue between the lines defensively. Jobe isn’t suited playing in a 2 man midfield for me yet

We'd have won that game with 11 men. There you have it. Nothing more to say.
