First of all id like to say im not a racist but isnt it funny that if you call someone black a "bad" name then he gets on his high horse but if you call them a ****ing bell end or any other name non-racist they dont complain to fifa?. I think this racist card is pathetic, im white and if you call me a honkey tonk, white trash or any other name that would be racist towards me it wouldnt bother me one bit. It seems that most black people must not be happy being black or they wouldnt take such offense to it surely?.

Its all pathetic and Rio ferdinand is as pathetic as they come!!!.

Rio Ferdinand harangues referees and misses drug tests. Clearly he is not someone fit to " step up and take on the mantlepiece " ( sic ) of a respectable and responsible person.

It's different. If someone calls you white trash, or a honky, it doesn't come with hundreds of years of systematic discrimination and oppression behind it. Not that I agree with racism in either direction, but saying that black people should just man up and get over it as Blatter effectively did is offensive and ridiculous.

so the people complaining were around hundreds and hundreds of years ago?. Its getting very very silly and pathetic. whats in the past is left in the past end of. We are talking about things that happened hundreds and hundreds of years ago. We need to draw a line under it somewhere. If you dont like it there are plenty of all black countries out there where you can live happily and not have to encounter any white people. The racism card has run its course and the black people of this country will get no more sympathy from me as I would any other person.

There has been systematic discrimination against ethnic minorities far more recently than hundreds of years ago. Think "no dogs, no blacks, no Irish", think the fact that it is still more likely a white person will get a job over an equally qualified black person, the fact that black people are still subjected to racial abuse if they walk down the street in many areas. The fact that there's such huge history behind racial abuse makes it more sensitive than just calling someone a bell end. Which would you be more angry about, a German calling you an English prick, or a German making some offensive remark about English people being killed by bombing in World War 2?

Suggesting that people can go to a "black country" if they don't like racism is completely ridiculous. They were born in England. They are English. Why should they have to move? Perhaps if someone's an ignorant racist, they shouldn't live in a multicultural society, where black people have an equal right to be respected for their merits as anyone else, there are plenty of backwards, ignorant ****holes all over the world they can move to if they think that way.

If you don't want to address the points I've made, fair enough. Just don't act like you're leaving the discussion on some sort of moral high ground.

High ground, not high horse. I was just trying to have a reasonable discussion, which you had every right not to participate in. I'm just taking issue with the way you left it.
