It's not an opinion, it's a lie. You have been proven wrong so it is no longer an opinion. You don't get to sprout nonsense and then when someone proves you wrong sit there and say 'it's just an opinion'. It's a pathetic agenda you have against one of our best players, which is factually incorrect. Grow up.

You saying Neil gave the ball away too much. He had an 89% pass accuracy and was not dispossessed once. I think 8 of our players gave the ball away more than he did. He also got an assist for the Huggins and played a role in the Ba goal. You said **** all about the teams performance, no praise for any players at all just straight on here to attack Neil for no reason. Pathetic.

I cannot believe there is any debate about Neil anymore. If he hasnt proven to people by now how good he is, and how crucial to our results and performances he is, I suspect he never will. The lad is just a brilliant footballer who plays probably the most technically difficult position on the pitch.

Honestly i cant believe it either. I know me n you are quite biased about him as weve been huge fans of him for yrs now

He might be our most important player, controls the game for us but he does all the dirty stuff as well

Theres a few on here that werent his biggest fan but a lot of them have admitted hes been class this yr n is vital to us

I think it was the way you said it

You said hes giving away the ball loads but that wasnt true. You didnt mention the 6/7 players that gave the ball away more than him

If you had said 'i just dont think neil is as good as folk make it', most of us (i definitely) wouldnt have cared as thats your opinion

If our players never gave the ball away or never made a mistake they wouldn't be playing for us.

Let's just enjoy the ride eh?

The way we play out from the back is risky at times and we will get caught and punished a few times this season I reckon but we definitely need to embrace this style of play and keep going with it as the rewards by far outweigh the risk.

Is there a player in world football that doesn’t make mistakes? I’ve never seen one.

    Every TV pundit mate ...

... the way Merson, Neville, Keane, Shearer, etc, criticise the slightest error you'd think they were perfect.

They even criticise the keepers when they don't have a clue <laugh>

I don't know how Merson has somehow reinvented himself as the font of all knowledge...<laugh><laugh>

He's ****ing clueless. Canny player but he was off his tits most of the time. Good job he is surrounded by tactical geniuses like Clinton Morrison on Soccer Saturday. <cheers>

guess i was one of them, would not say i was not his biggest fan as such, but the lad was regularly caught when trying to turn with the ball in a 'dangerous' position and he did not seem to learn, that was when i thought it might be best for the lad to miss a few games and get his head together...he started the next game and i was worried but he had an excellent game and never went back, in fact his game just improved as if overnight.

does he make mistakes, well of course he does but if we are honest that first half on wednesday could be a catalogue of 'mistakes not to be made at any level'...fact is we have been through a horrible downturn in our club and we are ready to jump on anything still but the new owners have made great changes already and we have to learn to allow a couple of honest mistakes from these lads.

Anyone who doubts the value of Ba, Aouchiche and Jobe should watch this ...

... they're all young lads but look as if they've been in the Championship for years.

The future is so bright it's hurting my eyes :emoticon-0103-cool:

I wasn't too sure about him a while ago when he was making costly errors but he's improved massively in a short time and now mistakes are few and far between.

Fact is that he's already a reliable and productive player in a difficult position and at a very young age. Got a bright future ahead of him. I say fact is because the stats back him up and anyone still confused about why people rate him so highly should have a look at them.

Can't believe Donald and co were willing to let him leave. He was offered a contract by Chelsea I think it was (big London team anyway.) and his dad said what's going on here, wanted him to stay in the NE rather than go to London with no football, family or friends and tons of money in his pocket. Club gave him a contract seen as Chelsea or whoever willing to offer decent money. Amateurs they were, looked a prospect in a difficult position, as a kid to my terrible eye, and aye just walk away after training you up for years when you're chomping at the bit to stay. Madness those times like, owt to save 50p. Onwards and upwards <cheers>

You may remember a player called Stewart, we sold, who had a poor injury record with Sunderland ...

... we picked up around £10m which almost covers what we had to pay Rodwell, Grigg, etc, to f**k off <laugh>

Yeah I was thinking about Stewart after I posted that, we played a blinder there. Cost us very little to buy him and the profit was huge even without considering the injury concern angle.

Got plenty more 'Stewarts' signed too, every player we've signed has been a bargain and has big sell on potential.
